Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV. Pours a reddish purple appearance with a pinkish head that dissipates pretty quickly. Cheesy, blackberry/blueberry, tannic/woody, vanilla aroma. Tangy, soda-like, light butter, vanilla woody, juicy dark berry flavor. A touch watery. Not nearly as sour or fruit forward as the plum release.

375mL purple wax thanks to LtDan! Clear dark purple pour, weak pink foam. Nose is funky, juicy blackberry and blueberry. Rich, bright. Taste is a bit thin and soapy. Pretty bland in a way. Small soap and harsh acid. Hmm. No sourness/tartness. Almost like a muted blueberry Berliner.

Pours dark red like a good red wine. Aroma of blackberry and elderberries, with the trademark sour yeast. Active carbonation, from 2013 cellar. Thick rich dark berry taste, significantly tart. Fruit and vitamins of the night. Thanks Jason B.

transparent chestnut with large bubbled white spotty head. Funky ash berry nose. Flavor thin but more focused, lactic berries with phenolic rubber hints, fruity but very thin, low carbonation, fruit skin all over.

(375ml bottle) Pours a hazy violet body with a spare white head. Aroma of oak, blackberries, plum, grape, earth, and florals. Flavor of oak, florals, herbs, vinous, earthiness, and blackberries with a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle via jbeatty, thank you! Pours a gorgeous blueish purple, like blueberry kombucha, with just a few bubbles. Aroma is lemon, muted blueberry, stone-fruit acidity, cinnamon. Taste is lemons and blueberries with minerality and a quick finish. Somewhat watery mouthfeel. Good but nowhere near the best I致e had from Crooked Stave.

Like the original but this one has some issues, plasticy, not very great at all.

Bottle from a friend.
Appearance: Hazy raspberry colored body with a short and light pink head.
Aroma: Sort of sulfury with a mild sour blackberry presence.
Taste: Mildly sour, reminds me of an Atomic Warhead, but no substance beneath. The base is watery and the sourness doesn稚 do much to add to flavor, it痴 just sour to be sour.
Palate: Sort of flat.
Overall: I致e had three Crooked Stave beers, the other two were excellent. I知 not sure where this went wrong but this was very boring and the people I drank it with agreed. It tasted watery and generically sour. What a shame.
