Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to Bruce. Very light haze on this pale gold beer. Small bubbly white head. Light crisp palate, slightly dry. Very slight soapy note. Minerally lemon. Bitter floralness. Light dry finish. The sourness burns a little after the swallow.

Theydon_Bois (7938) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to our host with the most, 28/05/14. Hazed light golden with a moderate off white covering and associated edgework. Nose is zingy citrics, white wine rinse, peach, apricot, light pissoi, bretty floaters. Taste comprises peach melba, dried apricot skins, bretty pangs, subtle BA effect, tangy lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tarte peachy brett rinse. Decent.

Leighton (10512) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 28, 2014
Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Bruce. Pours mostly clear, orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Great aroma, lots of pale wood, peach, lemon. Light sweet flavor with some grass, lemon rind, a bit of rubber, soft funk. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish, oily, with more citrus, light rubber, hints of tart lemon. Smells good but the flavor and texture don’t follow on that well.

The taste is crisp, tart, sour green apple, tart pear, lemon sherbets, lime, white grape, earth, funk, mild acidity and sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, tart and pretty easy going.

Sample from Batch #2 at Kurtkeller 011: Crooked Stave-tastic 01 on 05/02/2014. This beer is a clear golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, oak and brett. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, earthy yeast and brett. The finish is moderately sour with a lingering brett and citrus aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Bottle shared by westmeister at his house. Much funkier than the hop savant we just had. Dry and fruity with a bit of wood and earth flavors. Finish is dry again with lots of light tropical fruits. A little more entertaining and engaging here.

Cumming Tasting. On the heel of Hop Savant this showed an obvious lack of hops, but it was worlds different. Dry funk, brett, funk, tart, acidic, earthy vanilla wood. Very nice.
