From the 2012 Cellar Reserve
Tasted on 1/3/14 from a waxed and capped 375mL bottle, big thanks to adnielsen for being a great trustee. Pours hazy orange/golden with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average, sticky lace. The nose is super sour and funky/earthy with a bunch of citrus and white wine vinegar, and a very unique tropical and citrus hops aroma. The flavor is almost exactly as the nose would have suggested, with a bit more caramel malt and vanilla barrel character, but the same sour citrus, white wine vinegar, and tropical fruit hops. The body is medium with some nice barrel tannin, lively, nearly sparkling, carbonation, and a long sour citrus and tropical hops finish. This beer is really great, the only beers close I’ve ever had were Cuvee des Champions and Le Terroir, but I find this to be a bit more balanced than both.

Batch 2. Pretty clear gold. Excellent nose of pineapple brett, light funk, maybe light oak. Quite tart, lot of brett character, some red clay earth, light cobwebs. Another of those ones from CS that leaves me scratching my head over the hype.

On tap at The Source. Pours a clear gold with small off white head. The aroma is strong funk, oak, brett, and light fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a light brett, oak, and lingering dryness. Very impressive.

Bottle shared by sloth. Pour was hazy orangey straw, decent carbonation/head. The aroma was severe lemony tartness, leather, faint rubber. The flavor was intensely tart, sour lemons, funk, light fruits (peaches). Mouhtfeel was light and refreshing, yet harshly acidic. Dare I say Cantillon-like? Thanks again, Bert, great fun!

Syndicate hooked me up with this bottle just because he is a hell of a nice guy... Thanks Darrel!! Shared tonight with reinheitsgematt and buckeyeboy. Pours a hazy golden.. good white head with nice retention and lacing. Nose is chock full of brett and fruity elements that make me think lemon and underripe peaches... vinous oak may be in my imagination. Flavor is funky and sour... great juicy tartness... saliva sucking and still inviting.. fantastic.... upper echelon sour IMO. Light body with good bubble. Awesome beer that I wouldn’t have likely tried if not for my buddy Darrel.. Thanks again amigo. An afterthought.... The quote on the back of the bottle is sooooo amazingly douchy. I bet the brewer is an insufferable shitbag in real life.

375ml bottle thanks to Toby. Pours out a hazy straw topped with a small white head. Nose is wood brett and green apple seeds. Taste is as the nose with a nice funk and pucker bite.

Location: Sampled at Where the Wild Beers Are, 6/7/14

Aroma: It has a fruity nose (peach, grapefruit), some brett, and tartness
Appearance: It pours a clear copper-orange color with an off-white colored head
Flavor: The taste is a mix of tart and sweet, fruity, and some brett
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a decent mouthfeel, and a tart finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid beer. It wasn’t a stand-out at the festival, but a very enjoyable beer none-the-less.

Poured from a 375mL bottle, 2013 - batch 2. Aroma is fairly nice with quite a bit of pineapple and tropical fruit. Light oak and malt notes. Faint diacetyl notes. Light acidity. Medium light lemon and citrus. Pours a slightly cloudy, pale yellow-gold with a small, thin, white head that quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor is moderately acidic upfront with touches of diacetyl. Medium light malt notes with some light oak character and medium light citrus. Moderate pineapple and tropical fruit notes. Finish has some oak, acidity and light malt notes along with hints of tropical fruit. An interesting, slight sweet floral note. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice beer with a mellow, moderate acidity. Nice tropical fruit, pineapple and Brett notes with balanced oak notes. Hints of diacetyl, but it has improved and diminished with age.
