On tap at the Source. Brown appearance with a light tan head. Aroma and flavor is sour, tart and tangy with notes of oak, wine, vanilla, butter and light bourbon. Sour and lightly sweet with a medium body, a smooth creamy feel and a puckering finish that lingers. Excellent.

Pours ruby with off white head. Aroma is extremely strong cedar, vanilla and cherries. Flavors are butterscotch, cedar explosion, plums, funky and earthy finish, bit moldy and fecal. Weird beer.

Draft @ Crooked Stave @ The Source, Denver, CO. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty woody spicy caramel aroma. Fruity sour tart woody caramel flavor. Has a fruity sour tart woody caramel finish.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of nice cedar, oak, some whiskey in there with a touch of red fruits, tart lemon, hints of spice in there as well. Taste is some woody notes, slight whiskey, oak, and vanilla, touch of grass and spicy notes, nice lemon, finishing fairly tart. Decent.

I liked this one a whole lot. The barrels added quite a unique whiskey and cedar-like aroma. Taste is sour and tart, with whiskey and finishes smooth.

P: Dark brown amber, no head just one fucking bubble. S: Oak, some molasses, whiskey, hint of dark fruits and a touch of spicyness. T: Dark cherry, cedar, currants,vanilla, oak, and a hint of whiskey. M: Thin almost all the way with a crispy texture. O: Very nice brew.

On tap @ Beachwood BBQ. Mahogany pour with an off-white head. Sweet cola and bourbon on the nose. Oak, grass, plums, raisins, vanilla, and lots of acidity. The flavor is very, very sour. Cola, bourbon, vanilla, and raisins. Light grass, some oak, and plum.

Tap at Beachwood BBQ Seal Beach for Sour Fest. Pours a clear dark cola with lower carbonation. Nose is excellent bourbon barrel, no cedar, with butter and toasted coconut. Mild seasoned tomato. Taste is bourbon, butter, oak, sharp lime pulp citric acid. Long lactic finish. Extremely bright and clean. Another top notch dark sour from Crooked Stave.

On tap at Crooked Stave. Pours a dark burgundy brown with rapidly settling tan head. Aroma is tart, fruity, plum, and oaky. Flavor is moderate to strong sour, nice and tart, oaky, vinous, plum, stone fruit. Very tasty and nice level of sour. Moderate carbonation, medium-light body, and crisp texture. A very good sour.
