3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle with thanks to Adnielsen! Pours dark opaque mahogany, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma is roasty, Bretty, oak, fruity, cherries? Flavor is medium sour, roasty, oak, cherries. Some whiskey notes. Medium body. I like pretty much everything these guys put into Leopold barrels, and this is no exception.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Au Trappiste, Bern, 11/2014 batch 3
Dark brown color, almost black, oily. Very interesting aroma, dark chocolate, wine and sour elements. Good, but it’s too sour, the body is too thin, there is no notable malt, at least it has a light balsamic note.
A bit pretentious, and it’s not a high achiever.

Classic treat! Lovely brett, berries dried fruits, raisins, ripe cherries, raspberries, lemon, nice whiskey accent, but would love even more, oaky, vinous, tarty. Light sweet with moderate sourness.
Enjoyable long sipping brew.
