Deep ruby tinted body with a muddy brown colour and a thick two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of sour grapes, hay and a lot of funk - very nice and super pungent. Medium-bodied; Strong sour grape and pear flavour with a lot of apples, hay, grass and a big kick of prunes - very nice. Aftertaste shows a ton of soured notes with the oak and grapes really coming out at the end - very nice. Overall, an amazing beer with a ridiculous complexity and a very nice sour finish that goes great. I sampled this taster on draught here at the brewpub for US$4.00 on 07-June-2014.

Draft at the Source. Burgundy pour with a thin tan head. Red wine aroma with an oak aged hint. Light sourness with a burgundy hit. Amazing balance. Such a great sour.

Very tart and slightly dry with some nice complex flavors that are typical of a burgundy. Slight flavor of oak.

Sample at Kurtkeller 011: Crooked Stave-tastic 01 on 05/02/2014. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of berries, oak and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart cherry, raspberry, oaky vanilla and roast malt. The finish is tart with an oak and dark fruit aftertaste. Good brew all around.

Welp, pours a ron burgundy color with a small off white head. Pretty intense funky aroma. Not sour smelling, just pure bacterial funk. Urinary tract infections coupled with grandmas bedsores oozing with puss. Funky. Taste is dry and lightly tart with some funk. Flavors of oak, moss and sour dark fruit. Finish is long and slightly sour, but with not much pucker. Pretty good, not their best.

Aroma is solid lemon, cherry, barrel. Appears dark red brown. Tannic. Full crazy sour. All in lemon. Cider aspects.

Base sour is a great sour. Dark rich with a white ring of a head. Aroma a little grapy. Full mouthfeel. Better than a Flanders. A sweet brett finish. Thanks Jason B

Enjoyable. Sour fruit aroma and somewhat funky. Burgundy color with a lot of bubbles. Very small head. Watery and smooth palate. It also coated the mouth. Sour hits you first but mellows with the more you drink. There is some malt essence and wood. I tasted cherry as well with a full and dry finish. Complex but not a go to beer for me.
