Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

On tap at the source, pours bright golden with a carbonated white head. Aroma and flavor are soft, bringing pleasant wild Brett yeast, medicinal in a good way. I get a nice herb profile on the nose. Flavors bring light citrus and wild yeast on a highly carbonated body.

Keg at Beavertown. 4.2%. Hazy yellow, opaque, still, foamy white head, light lacing. Aroma is faint lime, biscuity malts. Body is light, spritzy carbonation, foamy. Too much fizz. Taste is lemon, pine, muddled zesty citrus, touch of acidity. Dry and sour. Nice stuff.

On keg at Magic Rock Tap, Rainbow Project 2015. Previously out of a bottle from Bine & Vine, San Diego. Pretty badass and well-rounded. Hazy light blond appearance with nice foamy lasting head typical of many Crooked Stave beers. Tart, lemon zest, bret, acidic, powdered donuts. Aromatic floral aftertaste. Tangy, spritzy mouthfeel. I would also be happy to drink this on a boat. Super bret quencher.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of funky yeast, white wine, lemon, straw and grapefruit. Flavour of bitter lemon, minerals and freshly squeezed lime. Dry, tangy finish. Thin body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. An excellent Saison.

@ Stordirren 15-9-14: mycket lätt doft och smak. Tydlig brett och en trevlig balans. Ganska enkel men mycket gott.

Bottle at home. Slight gusher. Poured a hazy pale colour with a slight white head. Nose of spiced old yeast, funk, and spiced pepper, citrus and fresh limes. Old hop notes, oak, and a hint of vanilla. Flavour of barnyard, and a slight refreshing tart twist. Very Nice!

Probada en botella de 330 ml. adquirida en New Beer Distributors, Lower East Side, New York. Aceptable aunque un poco ácida para mi gusto. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
