COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

375ml Bottle. The pour was a murky golden orange with a small (less than 1 finger) white creamy head that diminished quickly, down to a scattered film and medium collar with excellent streaky lacing. The aroma was of a funky Belgian yeast and a light grain malt with notes of citrus (lemon), a fruity ester (peaches and pairs), lemon grass, cheese and dust. The taste was very yeasty with a strong citrus backbone and had a mild grassy feel along with a hint of lemon early on, and then become very lightly bitter with a mildly sour ending. The flavor only lasted a short time after the swallow, with a light sour bitter taste fading slowly off the taste buds into the background. Mouthfeel was a bit above light in body and rather dry in texture with a medium carbonation. Overall this was an extremely tasty Saison, which I also found to be very refreshing and easy to drink. I think I may just have found my new session brew...

Shared bottle in La Cervecita Nuestra De Cada Dia, Barcelona on 8th July 2016 with the RBESG guys. Poured light golden yellow with a white head. Aroma was of citrus fruits and wood. The fruity taste was also citrus led with a mixed basket of flavours which had some herbal notes as well. Twiggy and gooseberry ’ish’ sums the brew up nicely. Different and interesting, but ’um’.

Bottle at Cervecita. Clear golden with white head. Lots of lemon, funk, grass, soap, white pepper, dough, fresh herbs and twigs. Over medium sour and very light bitter and sweet. Almost medium bodied. Quite nice.

bottle @ The Beer Trappe / Lexington KY --- (bottled April 2015) Aroma of malt with grass and a kiss of lemon. Cloudy light amber color, white head that quickly drops to a thin cover, bands of lace. Taste is slightly sour malt that adds medium fizz and sour yellow & orange fruit. The finish moves strongly toward sweeter orange and lemon in a finish that lasts an eternity. This is a Saison that doesn’t emphasize the sour. Exceptional (except for $9.00 for 12.7 oz.) Highly recommended.

A 375ml bottle bottled in April 2015 and poured into a Cantillon ballon glass. It poured a clear golden orange colour with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly but left some light lacing. Aromas are brett, barnyard funk, lemon, tart, oak and pepper spice. Tastes light, everything was light. Light sourness, light tart, light lemon, light pepper, light oak and light funkiness. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall despite everything in the taste being quite light, it was still nice and refreshing.

Bottle shared by Caesar @ Caesars mancave. Clear pale yellow color, average sized white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma reminds me of a saison and a geuze, slight yeast and quite a nice citrussy yellow fruits touch. Taste only has a slight sourish touch, quite balanced, a slight citrussy touch, superbly balanced. Lovely.

Bottle, 0.375l. Pours cloudy golden color with thin creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, brett, herbs and bread with mild earthy note. Taste starts light sweet grainy, following is refreshing citric, funky and gentle woody with moderate bitter finish. Medium body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Very nice and smooth, even a bit undercarbonated for my liking...

Easy drinking fsrmhouse saison that isn’t super heavily barreled. Light wine aroma and some farmhouse grass and hay. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Light tangy bretta finish, a hint of citrus. Tap at Churchkey.
