Bottle, thanks to jackl. It pours murky red-brown with pretty much no head. The nose is earth, wood, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, raisin and candy. The taste is initially damn tart, lemon, Granny Smith apple, cider vinegar, fairly acidic, wood, dark fruit, berry and sherbet with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and low/fine carbonation. Not quite what I was expecting with the Abt/Quad style classification! Still an interesting and pretty tasty offering.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. Right from the source! The pour’s ruddy brown with a small head. The nose is somewhat smoky, burnt pine. Some caramel and toffee. The taste is light brett, green apple tang. Some roasted plum and light cocoa. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a novel combination of flavors. OK.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Jack for completing the Crooked Stave hattrick this evening. Hazy amber beer, no real head. Light dry palate. Pretty sour - almost acidic. Odd juxtaposition of mellow bourbon and very tart fruits. Dry finish. Just a bit beyond my comfort zone of sourness but tasty.

Bottle with Alan, Joe, and Wick shared by Jean. Notes of then oak and cherrries, wood, barn, peanuts, light chocolate, bourbon, earthy barrel, super creamy and tart funk. Cuvee de Tomme like. Barely any of the 11.5 is present....crazy smooth. Retarded sour quad from Crooked Stave.

Bottle shared by pmoney. Served in a FFF teku. A: Pours a hazy brown color with a thin head forming on the pour. It recedes to nothing quickly leaving behind no lace. Still looking. S: Acidic cherry, slightly tart with a sweet malt presence and some caramel. Light notes of bourbon and oak with a little plum as well. T: Tart and lightly acidic with some red apple and cherry notes. Oak barrle with a sweet cracker malt and caramel presence. Very little bourbon with a hint of vanilla. M: Low carbonation with a medium high body. Slightly chewy texture. O: This was a nice beer, but I wish it had a little more base Quad show up. A touch more carbonation would have been nice as well.
