madvike (2905) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2013
Bottle - Pours brown with a ring of bubbly tan head. Nose is sweet and malty, boozy but not sharp, with a lot of caramel notes. Taste is sweet and caramelly with some malty goodness. Not tons of fruit--a bit of cherry--with a long, sweet finish. Thin and carbonated with a medium body. Expected a little more than this.

Scopey (7430) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 18, 2013
Bottle, thanks to jackl. It pours murky red-brown with pretty much no head. The nose is earth, wood, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, raisin and candy. The taste is initially damn tart, lemon, Granny Smith apple, cider vinegar, fairly acidic, wood, dark fruit, berry and sherbet with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and low/fine carbonation. Not quite what I was expecting with the Abt/Quad style classification! Still an interesting and pretty tasty offering.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. Right from the source! The pour’s ruddy brown with a small head. The nose is somewhat smoky, burnt pine. Some caramel and toffee. The taste is light brett, green apple tang. Some roasted plum and light cocoa. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a novel combination of flavors. OK.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Jack for completing the Crooked Stave hattrick this evening. Hazy amber beer, no real head. Light dry palate. Pretty sour - almost acidic. Odd juxtaposition of mellow bourbon and very tart fruits. Dry finish. Just a bit beyond my comfort zone of sourness but tasty.

Flavor is quite sour with lots of tangy fruits, some citrus, dry wood, funk, light yeast, some dryness. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Tart finish, pretty acidic, some woody dryness, tangy fruits. Nice beer overall.

PhillyCraft (3441) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle with Alan, Joe, and Wick shared by Jean. Notes of then oak and cherrries, wood, barn, peanuts, light chocolate, bourbon, earthy barrel, super creamy and tart funk. Cuvee de Tomme like. Barely any of the 11.5 is present....crazy smooth. Retarded sour quad from Crooked Stave.
