Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy golden hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is Lon, earthy, peppercorn, cat urine, horse blanket, straw, spice. Mouthfeel is nice with medium light body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with an astringent following and clean finish. Overall this is a decent saison-like whitbier but is a bit heavy on the cat piss essence.

Bottle bought @ Bierkompass.de. Pours hazy orange with a rather thin fizzy white head that quickly dissipates while leaving some spotty trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and funky with wheat crackers, hay, blood orange juice, barnyard, pineapple juice, mango, dry soil, lime juice lemon zest and orange zest. Taste is sour and fruity with wheat crackers, orange juice, lime juice, hay, dry soil, sour milk, moist wood, orange zest, lemon zest, buttery wood and mineral. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, mouth-puckering and light bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with crackers, lime juice, blood orange juice, apple cider vinegar, sour milk, hay, dry soil, moist wood, barnyard and leather. Solid sour...

A lovely beer. It pours a hazy yellow. To look at it, I liken it to looking at the Sun through a cold fall mist on some historic field in Belgium. Yes, this beer made me lyrical. The aroma is a whiff of the sour and bread like brett yeast. First sip hits you with a coy and flirty sourness before your treated to some honest and good ol’boy beer flavour at the back. This beer is a treat and those Colorado boys are damned clever.

Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Looks very nice. The nose is unlike most witt’s as it’s the sharper citric and bretty aromas that dominate the nose. Very tart flavour initially which lead thoughts towards gueuze rather than witt.. Very pleassnt I must say. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with a citrus-bitter aftertaste. Refreshing!

Sample at Kurtkeller 011: Crooked Stave-tastic 01 on 05/02/2014. This beer pours a hazy golden amber color with a medium thick fluffy white head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, bretty yeast and spices. Light-bodied with flavors of pithy citrus, funky brett, cherries and oak. The finish is fruity with an orange peel and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy pale golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out barnyard funk, oranges and citrus zest. Flavour is super funky, almost like a gueuze, with secondary notes of citrus and wheat. Super dry, funky, and amazingly refreshing and drinkable. My favourite of the St Bretta series. Phenomenal stuff.

375ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of Brett tartness, oranges, light wheat, pale malts, hints of floral hops, and light spices. Flavor the with a nice blend of the tartness and citrus. Average texture. A really cool beer.

Aroma: Earthy, tart; subtle cleaning product of some kind.
Flavor: Tart and Brett flavors. Subtle minty character. Secondary malt flavor; grainy, caramel. A little sour beer "buttery" flavor.
