COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Bretta is our 100% Brettanomyces Whitebier that was just released this week! Not only is St. Bretta an evolution of Wild Wild Brett Orange, but also it will be ever-changing depending on the fresh citrus available that season. For our spring release we decided to brew St. Bretta with fresh Minneola Tangelo. Each seasonal release of St. Bretta will have a diverse range of citrus fruit added to keep the beer fresh and exciting (the summer release was brewed with blood oranges)!

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly white head. Crisp palate. Zingy citrus fruits - grapefruit and orange - tangerine with a touch of lemon. Seltzer salts. Light dry finish with a sharp carbonated nip. Tasty.

Hazy yellow, lots of lacto on the nose, light brett, quite tart with pithy bitterness, I’m guessing from the tangelo, relatively light body. Very refreshing, I could go back to this.

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy light amber with no noticeable head. Aroma is musty citrus. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is instant sour, followed by definite sweatsox, with some grapey/mustiness. It’s mouth devouring sour, apparently based on citrus. Very nice drink!

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - thanks to Bruce. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a wispy white cream head. Tangy citrus nose, notes of tangerine, lemon, tangy wheat. Light sweet flavor with sturdy yet understated tangy lemon, doughy wheat bread, some dry hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, fairly dry, with further lemony tang, slight straw bitterness, hints of lemon rind. Nice.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Crooked Stave. Evidently, this is WWBO but aged on oak per the bartender. Pours a milky, yellow orange appearance with a white head. Juicy, tropical fruity, herbal, spicy hoppy, a touch minty, orange creamsickle citrusy, big vanilla, somewhat funky aroma. A bit thinner than I remember WWBO being. Juicy orange candy, pineapple, mango, vanilla, a bit woody, tart, bretty/pineapple flavor. Definitely easy to drink but seems thinner than WWBO, but the hops do seem a little more potent and fresh in the nose than WWBO. Fun beer to drink- no doubt it would be fun to beer bong- don’t necessarily think I’ll drink a bunch of these but looking forward to the future seasonal releases. Decent chance that LeninCat will rate this beer in the near future.
