From CO brother, shared with ck1 on the patio in the final afternoon of the family holiday weekend. Thanks Ken! Hazy orange pour. Heavy oaky funk. Tangy; cherries, brett. Not as good as the Vieille. ck1 says opposite.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours hazy golden with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are oranges, brett, wine, and oak - with a slightly tart finish.

Solidly sour with a very nice roundness of flavor. Hint of bready malt balances it out in the back. General tangy fruit flavor. Some funk and yeast in the aftertaste. "Unripe pineapple" is a nice term from another review. Mostly lactic but there’s some sharp vinegar. Really complex and polished. Seems like more of a sour/wild ale than a saison, but if I search I can find some clove or spice.

6/28/14 first ever Crooked Stave beer as I wander through the world of sours! Bottle traded to me from Brooklyn. Bottle Pour is copper with a thin layer of white bubbles. Smell is light tartness and funk. Flavor more tart than smell indicates. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Grapefruit nose. Tart and refreshing flavor, very crisp and light with light funk and good balance.

Bottle. Good, solid stinky farmy nose, with some light sour fruit. Clear medium straw color. Sharp fruit: light pear, kiwi, and sour apples / bitterness kicks in and threads its way throughout / thins out in final, with good lingering bitterness. Thin body, with light acidity. Very good stuff. The bitterness floats around the mouth, abd then sourness in moderated.

Pours a deep orange with slight brown hue, smallish clean white head quickly dissipates. Aroma is sour grape, vinegar, oak, funky Brett barn. Taste is quite tart, acidic, and dry.. Without being too much of any one of those. Lots of soured tropical fruits, juicy yet dry. Great stuff

12 oz. bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: finger white head, cloudy copper color, light lacing. Aroma: oak, grape, tart fruit, light yeasty leaves, Palate: light, average-lively, light sour/tart, thin texture, dry finish. Taste: sweet fruit, to nice tart, almost sour fruit, light bitter on the end. Overall, awesome beer! I am in love with this brewery. Great tartness, but simple and super drinkable. Love it.
