UPDATED: JAN 5, 2015 12.7 oz./375 ml. bottle shared and poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, orangey hue, with a light & bubbly layer of soft white foam, and light spots of lacing. The nose was yeasty funk, light citrus, and white wine. Light bodied with decent carbonation, hop influence was moderately bitter, the taste was tart, but the mouthfeel came off a bit thin, possibly prompted by the distinct dryness. Still caught my attention. Shared another 12.7 oz. bottle with friends, and this time, the texture was better, a touch of peach was noticed in the nose, and hints of herb & spice, possibly some anise, where evident in both aroma & flavor. +.1

2013, Batch #6.
Appearance: The body is a milky orange to hay color, like looking at unfiltered peach juice. The head is short but covers the top with a fuzzy white coating. The ring is dense and creamy.
Aroma: The aroma is a mix of sweet and sour, very fruity and enticing. Sweet peaches, nectarines, tart cherry, hints of vinegar, cotton candy, new leather smell, and slightly earthy, sort of piss smelling too. Boy this is complex, I can’t possibly describe this fully. Juicy and enticing, it’s very nice.
Taste: This is tart and lemony with a faint sweetness hinting of oranges up front. As the sip progresses I get dry leather and lemon with some oak tannins. This is a bright beer for sure. The finish adds some sweet candy like flavors. Overall, though, this is a bright dry citrusy beer that finishes dry and really challenges the palate.
Palate: Juicy and soft, mild carbonation.
Overall: This is one of the most challenging beers I’ve ever drank. At times I find this fruity and sweet with cotton candy and peaches, and other sips I find it to be dry oaky and reminiscent of chardonnay. This is an elegant beer that I want to re-visit one day, it’s pretty fucking awesome.

A yellow golden beer, with an excellent white head. In the nose there is a lot of sour, yeast, fresh it is almost like a geuze. It is a medium to light bodied beer, with an excellent carbonation. The taste is a lot sour, yeast, light bitter, and not much more. The aftertaste is dry, bitter and sour. It is a very sour saison if you can call it that, overall not great, despite all the efford. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375mL batch 3 bottle. Aroma is a balanced blend of cherry pie Brett notes and some light oak character. Some faint citrus and red apple as well as moderate pear and tropical fruit. Pours a cloudy golden copper with a moderately thick, large, off white head that recedes fairly quickly. This beer was a bit of a gusher so be careful out there. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor has a light, sweet graininess to it. Medium light acidity with some citrus character. Some tropical fruit and medium light pear notes. Light oak and medium light oak tannins. A touch of a phenolic character that isn’t quite plastic but is on its way there; currently more of a spicy note. Light bitterness. Some lingering acidity, citrus and Brett character; the lingering Brett is mostly pineapple but with a hint of cherry pie. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high to high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty darn good saison but the carbonation is a bit high and the Brett character in the flavor has a phenolic note that isn’t plastic but is very close to it. I like the beer a lot but am concerned that if it changed just a little bit it could be pretty bad.
