Amazing tart sour light grain smell. A beautiful see though but full golden copper. A sharp tartness that blends to a light grain sour, smooth delicious. Great mouth feel coats and leaves a lasting sour after the liquid fades.

Very fresh and citrus nose which is unexpected for a saison base style. Taste has hints of lemon and a lingering sourness. Overall a great tasting beer.

Bottle 2014--batch 11. This is such a great beer: tart and funky with plenty of that aged quality! Pours a hazy golden color with a fleeting head. Aroma is basement, oak, tart floral fruit and wine. Taste is lemon zest, tart, funky, some vinegar with a faint yeast or spice. Finish is mostly tart and lactic with a subtle bitter note that clips the end.

12.7 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 45 degrees F. A: Pours a dark, hazy gold, the color of honey left sitting at room temperature until it crystallizes solid. Forms a relatively thin white head, which dies to a cap and ring fairly quickly. Patchy lacing clings to the glass in the wake of the beer. S: The aroma opens with fresh wheat, grass, and hone, before hints of light fruit waft in - melon and pear. There’s a faint mustiness present as well, though no wood character. T: Tart and sour, this beer bites at the tongue on the opening and doesn’t relent until well after the swallow. Citrus and melon flavors roll through the sharpness, above a wheaten plain, before yielding way to a funk that seems not unlike mildewed oak and grass just before the finish. Said finish is quite dry, possibly the driest I’ve experienced from a beer. There’s a distinct coppery metallic tang in the aftertaste, as if the flavor tartness were sharp enough to draw blood from the tongue. M: Sharp and light, with bite from both the flavors and the carbonation. This seems like a light, drinkable beer, but trying to quaff it quickly would bring tears to the eyes. O: An excellent saison, delivering a complex flavor profile with a strong sour bite that seems less reliant on hops and more on yeast. Will repeat.

Tart drinker smooth from aging. Would be good with spicy food. Would recommend as a fine sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle care of Thomas "Boss" Hourican. Split with the Boss and Shin Tommy. Pours piss golden with a fuzzy white head. No lace. Aroma is lactic acid, freshly-baled hay, lemon zest, apricot and peach. Taste is apricot, lemon, and gentle touches of honey and nectar. Sour, cutting, funky, and tart. Fucking excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

some mild brett and sourness in the nose. lots of esters bouncing around, including fruity/pear notes. hazy medium honey color, head drops to lacing quickly. the assertive bitterness is challenged by a bitter response, building towards the finish. earthy and farmy. but none of the wild characteristics gets too out of hand, too dominant. the intense wild characteristics seem to counter one another to find balance.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Better than jolly pumpkin bam by a long shot in my opinion, drank them next to eachother at backcountry. More brett funk and barnyard, nice fruit esters in back. Excited to age a few bottles and see what happens
