375ml bottle. Pours a beautiful medium amber, slightly hazy, with a creamy white head. Complex, funky, vinous aroma, citrus, straw, brett, oak, vanilla, malt, dried fruit, apple, cider, Dry, medium bodied, low to medium bitterness, creamy CO2. Funky, sour, complex, beautifully balanced taste, malt, citrus peel, wood, earth, prunes, apricot, faint notes of red berries, oxidized apples, cider. Long, elegant, balanced finished, with a lingering acidity that cleans the palate. Truly awesome, a masterpiece! (2014-02-07)

Tart drinker smooth from aging. Would be good with spicy food. Would recommend as a fine sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle care of Thomas "Boss" Hourican. Split with the Boss and Shin Tommy. Pours piss golden with a fuzzy white head. No lace. Aroma is lactic acid, freshly-baled hay, lemon zest, apricot and peach. Taste is apricot, lemon, and gentle touches of honey and nectar. Sour, cutting, funky, and tart. Fucking excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

some mild brett and sourness in the nose. lots of esters bouncing around, including fruity/pear notes. hazy medium honey color, head drops to lacing quickly. the assertive bitterness is challenged by a bitter response, building towards the finish. earthy and farmy. but none of the wild characteristics gets too out of hand, too dominant. the intense wild characteristics seem to counter one another to find balance.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Better than jolly pumpkin bam by a long shot in my opinion, drank them next to eachother at backcountry. More brett funk and barnyard, nice fruit esters in back. Excited to age a few bottles and see what happens

Bottle, courtesy of a trade with robloc303. Split with Pat and Sean Tommy. Pours a murky golden orange with fluffy white head and soapy lace. Nose of lemon rind, horse blanket, lactic acid, stone fruit. Medium body, nicely tart. Great lemon and funk flavor. Well balanced beer. Another great Crooked Stave.

Draft at the Barrel Cellar. Pours a hazed pale gold with a small white head with larger bubbles. The aroma is super funky, with lemon, orange, apricot, oak, herbs, and spices. Some bready malts and vinous notes, as well. Flavor of lemon, oak, grass, sawdust, funk, apricot, peach, and subtle spice. Tart and funky, with moderate to medium carbonation and a light to medium body. Wow, this was excellent.

Probably my second favorite beer by CS. Tons of vinous grapey flavors with some oak, funky brett, lactic tartness, and the typical sulfuric extra funky crooked stave yeast. The last firework always gets put in the tube upside down.
