Sample at The Source. Cloudy orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and wheat. Medium-bodied with a funky brett character and flavors of earthy yeast, oak and malt. The finish is fruity with a tart apple and yeast aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Bottle from Proof. Muddled grapefruit colored pour with a fluffy white head. Strong yeast funk aroma, orange peels, oak barrels, with trace amounts of buttered toast and pear. Smooth, relaxed carbonation given way to tart citrus peels, oak and pears with a lot of Brett and pizza shop funk. Medium bodied with a tart finish. Mighty tasty.

02-MAY-2014, draft @CBC. Hazy orange with lasting white head. Aroma is tart, fruit, funk, straw, very fruity actually. Taste the same. Quite full body. Wonderful and mellow. Not very sour, smooth.

Hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a thin off-white head. Aroma of sour grapes, yeast, oak and a hint of grass. Light to Medium-bodied; Very sour and vinous taste at first with a very grape flavour and a lot of herbal notes on the finish with the sourness really rolling through. Aftertaste shows a lot of sour flavours throughout with a great kick at the end of oak and grapes. Overall, a very nice beer with a great sour note and a ridiculous complexity. I sampled this taster on draught at the brewpub on 07-June-2014.

Solidly sour with a very nice roundness of flavor. Hint of bready malt balances it out in the back. General tangy fruit flavor. Some funk and yeast in the aftertaste. "Unripe pineapple" is a nice term from another review. Mostly lactic but there’s some sharp vinegar. Really complex and polished. Seems like more of a sour/wild ale than a saison, but if I search I can find some clove or spice.

Bottle I brought home with me from a trip to Denver. Labeled batch 7/11, bottle 429/1599. Pours a light amber with a white fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of light fruity brett funk with a hint of pepper and tartness. Taste is of tart saison with some rustic malt character popping in, then moving on to a light fruitiness with some creamy oat in the finish. Light bitterness and hints of european hops. Palate is tart and quite dry but very refreshing and smooth. Overall this is a good farmhouse beer with a great tartness, mild and balanced funkyness that presents itself as ripe fruit. Delicate in its approach, bright and playful in its flavors and really pleasant to drink. Great beer!

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 March 2013 Update: Churchkey saison fest. Nose has a bit of acidity and mild funk. Flavor is fairly acidic. Dry. Really nice through the finish. Original 02.04.2012: Big thanks to kkrez for sending this bottle my way. Served in a Mikasa tulip. Pours a slightly-hazed peach color with a good white head and a nice amount of spotty lacing. The nose brings a bit of stone fruit and light wheat plus some nice funk. Flavor has a bit of light peach and lemon plus dry wheat. Nice dryness to the finish and a light sourness. Well done, especially in the feel department. Solid brew for sure.

750 ml bottle to taster (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a semi-transparent orange with LOTS of white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells semi-sweet, funky, and a little spicy. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Nice.

Woah, this was good. Aroma was bonkers, with a funky backbone, some cheese, black pepper, leaves, oak, lemon, and pineapple. Dat fuggginnnn pineapple. Taste was pretty similar with less cheese and more fruity qualities. Citrus and pineapple with a musty/earthy flavor and funk. Very nice.
