Bottle (batch 4) from Scott - thanks! Hazy glowing yellow pour with a slick of off-white foam. Aroma is lemon, oak, grain, white wine, and light bitterness into the finish. Taste is quenching lemon with light bitternes, grain, oak, light tart, crisp reinforcing brett, and white wine. Clean, dry, and balanced. Excellent.

375ml split 2 way thanks to Nick. Pours a nice orange color with minimal white head. Smell is citrus, oak, and funk. Taste is really impressive. Huge juicy citrus/orange flavor with a bit of oak and just a little tart funk. Nice dry finish, really enjoyed this one.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a finger of white head that settles to a film with good lacing. Aroma of tart and musty grapes with a hint of sweetness and some oak. Taste is musty grapes and light fruit sweetness with a mild sour followed by an aftertaste of hay and oak. Finishes with a mild sourness. Mouthfeel is crisp with a light medium body and high carbonation. Refreshing and drinkable. Flavors are very well balanced and highly enjoyable.

Thanks to buffalohead for sharing this wonderful beer on a quiet Sunday evening. A vibrant saison with vinous notes lives up to all expectations and even manages to exceed some of them. If not for the price tag I would pick up more routinely to share with non-beer drinking friends.

Aroma / Appearance - A mandarin orange base rests peacefully below slick legs. Oranges, lemons, and starch smell like walking onto a basketball court which has just been cleaned thoroughly.

Flavor / Palate - Citrus, lemon, and tartness are immediate but linger as well. A dash of white wine spilled on a new hardwood floor completes what is an enjoyable and not overwhelming profile. The mouthfeel manages to balance neatly on the razor’s edge between too thin and too cloying. I will have to try more Crooked Stave beers in the future.

Bottle shared at the Brokeback Revisited Tasting in London. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. Funky citrus aroma, tangerine, melon, sweat, orange. Light sweet flavor with assertive citric tang, ripe lemon, tangerine, restrained funk. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish with lots more tangy citrus, more tangerine, lemon, hints of armpit, mandarin orange. Awesome stuff. Completely drinkable,

Sample at The Source. Cloudy orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and wheat. Medium-bodied with a funky brett character and flavors of earthy yeast, oak and malt. The finish is fruity with a tart apple and yeast aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Bottle from Proof. Muddled grapefruit colored pour with a fluffy white head. Strong yeast funk aroma, orange peels, oak barrels, with trace amounts of buttered toast and pear. Smooth, relaxed carbonation given way to tart citrus peels, oak and pears with a lot of Brett and pizza shop funk. Medium bodied with a tart finish. Mighty tasty.
