UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Better than jolly pumpkin bam by a long shot in my opinion, drank them next to eachother at backcountry. More brett funk and barnyard, nice fruit esters in back. Excited to age a few bottles and see what happens

Clear light golden color from a pour at the start of a bottle. Wow, great sour front, followed by a complexity of flavors. This is more than a saison--it is hitting the lambic spectrum. Nice. (at 2015 Summer Beer Dabbler, St. Paul, MN)

Bottle/Fest. A- Sour, tart, white wine, funky. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Sour, tart, lemons. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- Not sure what exactly it’s aged in but it doesn’t get any of that unless it may have been white wine. To be honest, I couldn’t tell any difference between Crooked Staves saisons or sours.

Pours gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Funky oak and yeast aromas. Thin and tart with lemon and yeast upfront turning to hay before the lasting dry pith and peel finish.

Batch 16, 2014.

Pours opaque golden colour with creamy tiny white head, which stays untoutched for a one minute. Visualy medium carbonation. Aroma without note of an alcohol, with divine smell of wine grape (muscat, chardonnay...). Flavor is...very tart sour, more than any lambic or sour beer, with notes of wine and apple vinegar, and with hints of cherries. Malt sweetness is low, hop bitterness also. Finish is sour and somehow sweet/dry. Very good and Interesting beer, but still somehow a little bit too uniform or monotonous.
