4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle I brought home with me from a trip to Denver. Labeled batch 7/11, bottle 429/1599.
Pours a light amber with a white fizzy head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma is of light fruity brett funk with a hint of pepper and tartness.
Taste is of tart saison with some rustic malt character popping in, then moving on to a light fruitiness with some creamy oat in the finish. Light bitterness and hints of european hops.
Palate is tart and quite dry but very refreshing and smooth.
Overall this is a good farmhouse beer with a great tartness, mild and balanced funkyness that presents itself as ripe fruit.
Delicate in its approach, bright and playful in its flavors and really pleasant to drink. Great beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
375 bottle, 2013 Batch 6. Hazy golden-orange color with white head. Aroma begins funky and bretty like barnyard. Then it becomes more hoppy and fruity. There are citrus fruits along with some peach, apricot and strawberries. There is also a sense of wood. The taste begins malty sweet and then becomes acidic and vinous with citrus fruits like lemon. Finish is sour and then bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy golden color with a very white head. Smell is farmhouse like with a nice malt base, fruit, some citrus but with a hint of wood and lambic as well. Taste is very subtle flavors...wood, citrus, apricot ending puckeringly dry and woody. The body is light but slick with effervescent carbonation. A real treat.

Des céréales rustique et une explosion d’agrumes surettes animés par une effervescence vigoureuse qui s’attendrie avec le temps. Bière de soif exceptionnelle.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Portland.
Pours a light copper with a modest and coarse very nearly white head. The aroma is all about the brett: leather and lemon, hint of baking whole wheat bread. It’s lovely but I’m close to only going 7 here because it just doesn’t have complexity we might hope for. Flavor is sweet-and-sour, but not sweet enough to detract from quaffability. A nice mellow funk mingling with lemon juice, plenty of wood, hint of pepper, but again so much about the brett. It’s absolutely delicious after a run and impossible to merely sip.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium to good, just yellowish & dense head, dwindling over fully hazy orange-ochre beer. Farmyard odours, citrus, lemonbalm, rainwater, wet dog, herbal, lactic acid. Actually very inviting AND convincing. Quite tart, acidic, acerbic, lemony and nearly astringent. Faint woody touch, quite fruiy too: citrus, wild fruit, unripe fruit (unripe strawberry and ditto plums). Quite complex and layered, not unidimensional. Faint herbal touch in the finish. Titillating carbonation, mouthpuckering acidity, very light - attenuated - body. USA brewers ape Dupont when the make saison - they never had the opportunity to try the ’others’. This one is no exception, but for the fact that it completely convinces me, and that’s no mean accomplishment. Great!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a cloudy light to medium orange. Small frothy white head, fairly lasting with some lace. Aroma is yeasty, brett, light fruity, light peppery, sour and woody, white wine. Flavor follows. Medium plus body. Pleasantly tart and sour, some funkiness, little dryness. All that and yet still so very easy drinking.
