Better than jolly pumpkin bam by a long shot in my opinion, drank them next to eachother at backcountry. More brett funk and barnyard, nice fruit esters in back. Excited to age a few bottles and see what happens

This poured a cloudy darker yellow color with a white cover. Aroma was grassy hops, light farmy notes, some hose water, and lemon rind notes too. Flavor was very well melded together, great brett notes, light funk, and moderately spicey. OVerall a really nice saison.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2012 A very rare beer and I thank Horny Devil for it! Rated at the 2012 RB Pgh May tasting.Appears a little cloudy and pale. No head. Nice tart aroma comes thru on the nose. Light and easy at the beginning. On the tongue its like a gentleman. Easy and like-able in its presentation. Very happy on the palte. Nice fine cutting co2. This is a fun brew! Some farm in there. Quite acceptable overall!

Thanks to my main man Jeff for the hookup! Thought this was a very fine wild ale, filled with bright brett and ripe apple notes, a woody and tart nose, and the character of a modified blonde spicy saison. The spice, however, is only there in subtle proportions, and serves almost exclusively to evoke the wood character in an otherwise demi-sec and flavorful beer. Nice stuff indeed.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. This smells funky and like sours from them. Flavor is more farmhouse. Soft fruit. Some malt. Then the funk arrives. Interesting and fun. Tasty.

Bottle... Poured cloudy golden with a bubbly, white head. Dry with some funk and mild acidity. Not totally tart, but still lots of yeast flavors. Wood, oak, some earthiness. Light citrus and funk.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Denver2012 (24) - - FEB 26, 2012
Poured a nice golden color with a thumbs width white head. Sweet and a little tart in aroma along with the funk. Flavor was great. A nice sweet malt backbone to it, some juicy pear, and a nice tartness to it. Medium bodied, smooth, and kind of creamy mouthfeel. Really liked this one a lot, would love to drink again.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beaver (913) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 13, 2012
750ml bottle - batch 7/11, bottle 355/1599. Pours a hazy golden amber with a big fizzy rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is interesting - soft brett, wood, floral notes and some fruits.
The flavor is sweet tangy fruits with some earthy kind of funky brett that is a little acidic. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I like what the brett barrel adds to the saison. One of my favorites from Crooked Stave.

Big thanks to kkrez for sending this bottle my way. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pours a slightly-hazed peach color with a good white head and a nice amount of spotty lacing. The nose brings a bit of stone fruit and light wheat plus some nice funk. Flavor has a bit of light peach and lemon plus dry wheat. Nice dryness to the finish and a light sourness. Well done, especially in the feel department. Solid brew for sure.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 KajII (463) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium honey orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) white fizzy head that reduced quickly to a thin layer of foam that was left lying on top, thus producing some really nice sheets of lace.
The aroma had kind of funky odor to it and was of a straw like malt, a citrus hop and a barnyard scented yeast with notes of orange, tangerine, ripe peaches, apricot, a touch of oak and a mild tartness.
The taste was sweet and malty with a nice notes of orange, apricot and hints of citrus from the start, and had a strong yeasty sour finish with just a light hint of a woody fruit taste at the end. The flavor lasted a wonderfully long time allowing for the melding of flavors to relax on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was just a tad beyond light in body with a nice dry texture and a prickly carbonation.
Overall an exceptionally tasty and refreshing brew, one with a nice fruity sour flavor that most definitely left you wanting more.
