Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

Sweet trade bonus beer courtesy of adnielsen. The bottle pours with a gold body that has a slight haze and supports a white head. The aroma pulses with soured lemon and lime citrus tartness as well as yeasty sweet apple juice fruity esters. The taste starts with a flash of lime to lime flavor and then explodes into tartness and bitterness and acidity. At the edges are modest notes of spicy oak and yeastiness. This isn’t over tart or acidic but also lacks most ‘saison’ notes I’m familiar with.

375ml bottle (batch 5) pours semi-clear pale golden yellow with just over a finger of head. Nose is funky hay, bretty citrus, wildflower, musty wood. Taste is bright tangy tart citrus, hay, straw, funky orange zest, dank basement. Finish is tart barrel funk, white grape, dry lemon. Awesome.

Hazy golden color with tiny white head. Nose has, lemon, sour, brett. Taste has lemon, floral bitterness, brett (which comes through when the bitterness dies down). Very refreshing. Great.

2013 / Batch 6. 375 ml bottle into a wine glass. Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a finger of soapy white foam. Sticky and clinging. Aroma is a huge blast of brett funk. Earthy and musky. Lemons, grass, and wheat. Floral with some faint piney hops. The dry hopping is pretty noticeable. Taste is bright lemon, grass, wheat bread, and some lingering acidity. Washes away quickly to light brett notes. Not getting any oak. Creamy mouthfeel yet still crisp and highly drinkable. The only fault this beer has is that the flavors tend to disappear too quickly. Overall, a solid saison.

Bottle from Dak, thanks man! Cloudy yellow pour nice looking white head. Aroma - very complex, sweet melons, lemon, herbs, pepper , spice and some vinous undertones. Taste - wow, very dry, some oaky undertones, lemon, slight bit of herbs, crisp finish, some grapes. Really nice beer, but taste doesn’t quite live up the complexity of the aroma.

Pours a hazy light honey color with a loose off white head. The nose is complex spice mixed with oak, funk, yeast and some tart fruitiness. The taste is crisp, tart fruit, yeast, oak ending dry. The body is light with crisp carbonation.

Thanks to ThirstyBird for sharing. Pale orange colour in the bottle, nearly no white head. Nice floral nose, very subtle but nice. The beer starts very Saison-like, horse-blanket, sour, dry and interesting fruity. The mainpart is round, like a good saison has to be, very tart, easy to drink but fullbodied. The aftertaste is long, sharp, horse-blanket, dry, bitter.
Great beer! --> 14/13/14/13

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade. Pours hazy pale yellow with a small, staying, frothy, white head. Aroma has apples, funk, malty, light white pepper. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, light watery, dry, tart apple peel. But still really boring.

375ml bottle (2013/batch 5) thanks to onebigtymer11. Pours a hazy straw color with a thick frothy white head. Aroma of funk, lemon pine sol, sour citrus, and hints of oak. Taste is much the same. Lots of funk, sour lemons, hay, and light oak.

Bottle pour. An artisnal saison loaded with grassy funk and with a sour kick. A splendid brew.
