3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Small, just yellowish head, fast gone over slightly veiled, well-carbonated orange-golden beer; Spicy lemony nose, hint at some coriander, Brettanomyces, farmyard. Dry, quite spicy; mouldy lemon, Bretts to the fore. Citrus mainly, but not really fruity. Bitter finish, short of metallic. Spritzy, refreshing, dry and eminently drinkable. Crooked Stave doing it again. A very convincing beer, that I don’t hesitate calling Saison for a second.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
08.03.2014, 0,375l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild, sligtly fresh and funky, citrus, hay, mild brett, citrus peel, sorrel, oak, hints of sulfur and popcorn far back. Taste is slightly fresh sour-ish, sorrel, oak, citrus, wet hay, citrus peel, mild brett, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly watery mouthfeel. Nice for being only 4,2% ABV.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle, sent by b3shine-- many thanks! Lemony yellow, lightly hazy, with a lasting foamy white head that leaves delicate lace. Aroma is deeply funky. I swirl the glass and the funk is thick, redolent of an August barnyard, cheese rind, and a bit of petroleum. A touch of buttermilk too. This is the most complex aroma I’ve encountered in a long while. The palate takes a 90-degree turn from the nose. It opens fresh and light, with tart lemon and green grape notes, moving into light vinegar sourness, ending with an earthy herbal note. Unbelievably complex and drinkable for a lower ABV beer. A new all-time favourite, perhaps the perfect summer every-day beer. Thanks again Beau!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a clear straw yellow color with half a finger of off-white head that fades quickly. Hazy once the whole bottle is poured into the glass. Aromas of citrus, barnyard funk, tart notes, Brett, oak, herbs and spices. Tasting notes of big funk and Brett, oak, citrus, pepper, a bit of bile. Medium body with a dry finish. Took a few sips to get into the funkiness and Brett of this, mostly the bile-like note I picked up.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 ml bottle. From bierkompass.de.
Hazy yellow colour with a small white head.
Fruity sweetness, tropical fruits, sourness, tartness, brett and malt in the aroma. Phenomenal aroma. The flavour is sourness, mild tartness, grainy malt, citrus and some mild bitterness.
A bit thin. After all it’s only 4.2%. The flavour is a bit of a disappointment after the absolutely great aroma.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy yellow body, white head. Aroma has, well first comes bretta with some floury maltiness. Some lemons and pineapple with bit vinegary apple. Flavour drops a lot. Watey and some lemons with just some sourness. Not as hard tartness as assumed after aroma. Thinnish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden colour, dissipating white head. Aroma of citrus, hay, lots of brett, malts, light hops. It starts with huge brett notes, but as it stays open those balance out a bit. Citrus flavour, fresh, malts, quite sour for a saison, citric acid. Bit thin (not surprising considering the abv). Quite fresh, sour finish, refreshing! Nice interpretation of a saison!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes. Consumed August 23, 2013.
The appearance has a hazy golden/slightly amber colored body with a two finger white foamy head that dies into the body within a half minute. There is some adequate slightly foamy lacing sticks to the sides of the glass.
The smell has some rustic yet funky earthiness coming through very strong with some light lemon in the background, and a little bit of grassiness here and there. A little bit of yeast backs everything up in the background.
The taste is tart with a dry woodiness to it with some yeastiness here and there. It has a very dry yet tart lemon aftertaste and a dry finish.
The palate is light, very sessionable, and the carbonation seems to be good for the style and comes across fairly smooth to me, not as sharp as other saisons I’ve had, but hey I’m not complaining.
Overall, this is not a bad saison, I’m pretty sure I’d have this again.
