COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

Bottle (thanks to goodbyeohio)... Poured golden with a mild, quick forming head. Straight up good saison with a nice yeast character and spicing along with mineral tones, citrus, and earthy/herbal spice. Dry and well attenuated finish.

From a 375mL bottle. Aroma is fairly fruity with quite a bit of pineapple, cherry pie and tropical fruit from the Brett. Medium light oak character, faint hops and a bit of a poopy diaper aroma. Light graininess under all the yeast character. Pours a cloudy, pale gold with a small, thin, white head that quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is slightly tart with a medium light Brett fruit character of pineapple and tropical fruit. Moderate oak character and some light tannins. Moderate bitterness. Not much hop flavor. Mouthfeel is light and somewhat watery with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty nice saison with some really good Brett character. The oak barrels adds a nice level of complexity, but I feel like the beer is missing all malt character; a bit more malt would really help this beer out a lot. I was also expecting a bit more hops, but this is of lesser importance than a bit more malt.

Poured from bottle, pours a hazy yellow with a thin head, the aroma is of brett and yeast with a little bit of barnyard funk and must, the flavor has a tart front end with a little bit of lemon zest in the middle with a dry and yeasty finish, the brett really shows but doesn’t completely overtake the beer, slightly sour in the finish as well but still refreshing at the same time, not bad.

Bottle. Pour is faintly hazy and gold in color with a small, short-lived white head. Aroma is barnyard funk with notes of hay, Brett, light acidity, and a dry finish. Flavor is tart first and then dry and bretty with faint wine notes in the background. Finish is clean and light with faint floral notes and light sweet malt. Pretty light carbonation and a little thin on the palate, but it’s only 4.2%. Lightly funky, lightly tart, lightly earthy and easy to drink - tasty beer.

Bottle. Cloudy golden body. Frothy white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, oak, coriander, lemon, cobwebs, band-aid. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. The fresh, tart woody taste sticks on the tongue. Some tastes of orange and lemon. Nice aroma, but overwhelming oaky in the flavor. Mediocre at best. $9.99 for a 357 ml bottle. Really? Won’t be buying this again.

375ml bottle I picked up in Denver. Pours a hazy, pineapple juice yellow with some lacing, sticky, white head. Nose is very nice, earthy, wood pulp, dried citrus, herbal, some candy sweetness, a little lychee, some mild pepper, orange. Flavor is lightly bitter, herbal, sweet, earthy, almost a little gristy, tropical fruit, white grape. Clean, dry finish. Really nice.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Cheers to Leighton for this one. Lightly hazy gold beer with a little white head. Palate is light and airy with a mild minerally crispness. Nice lemon sherbet here! Touch of floral character. A little dry seltzer before the semi dry finish. Good stuff.

Nice pale yellow with a white thin head. Perfect carbonation. The aroma is pure Saison. Slightly tart with the yeast nicely evident. The hops come through on the back side, very subtle and work perfectly for a Saison. I will definitely buy this beer again.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours pale golden with a small fizzy white head. The nose is white grape, hay, orange, straw, barnyard and earthy brett. The taste s crisp, tart, white grape, lemon sherbet, light acidity, hay, good mouth-pucker, wood and light mustiness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, tart and very drinkable. No great depth, but it is pretty damn drinkable.

Bottle from some dork in Colorado. Thanks, Pete. Pours a cloudy light gold color with a white head. Aromas of some Brett, some light funk, some oak. Taste is semi-tart, sweat socks, gym rats. Bros trying to get swole. West coast type guys. Finish is semi swole with some dry leathery funk and bedridden ass sores. Loineshawn ate the rice kirispy treat. Inexcusable.
