4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A great saison. Lacks the punch of the Belgian saisons (not as bitter / sour) but makes up for it and even nudges ahead overall with amazing balance whilst still delivering that expected saison distinctiveness on the palate. Love it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Bright clear hay-yellow with a small white head. Aroma is funky, with grape, wheat, citrus, elderflower, hoppy stuff. Taste has salt, citrus, funk. Palate is a bit flat and watery, but otherwise pretty delicious.

Bottle, as pictured. Golden yellow-orange pour. White head. Nice tart, dry flavor. A little bit funky, a little bit fruity. You can get a little bit of the Brett in it. Very nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Oak aged saison with thin, loose and quickly breaking, off-white head; cloudy, yellowish peach blonde colour with good fizz. Interesting bouquet, indeed very much a saison, with impressions of candied lemon, redcurrant, oaky tannins, yoghurt, sorrel, leather, wet hay, starfruit, white pepper, dry sherry, wine vinegar, apple peel, weeds, sweat and ’horseblanket’ (Brett). Crisp onset, fruity in a quenching, sourish way, lemony acidity, sharpish carbonation, sweetish bready malts in the back, yeasty, smooth, thinnish and powdery mouthfeel, a bit starchy even, finishing in a dry, spicy finish in which earthy hop bitterness manages to stay in perfect balance with the continuing sourness, long and very quenching, with a subtle and refined woody oak touch, the tannins of which render the aftertaste even more dry. I was very much in the mood for a saison today and this is without a doubt a tasty, quenching, complex and very well-crafted example. Very Belgian, too: if I had to taste this blind, I’d situate this in Wallonia rather than Colorado...

Opaque pale gold, medium white head. Soft yeast, haye and apple aroma. Sweet and sour, some dryness. Finishes clean, some sour notes. Lovely little saison.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2013 batch 7. Aroma has oak, lactic acid, light sweet malt, pear, and cherry. Quite tart with lots of funk, but the sourness seems balanced. The flavor is less interesting than the aroma but the same elements are there. Drinkable and refreshing with abundant barnyard. Finish is oak and under ripe pear.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
My wife didn’t like it, my wife’s mother didn’t like it. This did not associated for them with beer, because it tasted like there are not hoops and it is very dry, acidic.
For me, as a home brewer- saison is new style to me. Maybe it is just not my style. I appreciate bottle and label, but, I will not try to clone, whats in there.
If somebody would offer me it in hot summer day for free, I would drink it, but definitely will not buy it again.

375ml bottle, pours hazy lemon gold with a chalky white head. Aroma is light sweet biscuit, sherbet, lemon juice, citrus hop, white grape, Brett. Nice balance of malt, hop and light sour yeast. Light body, thin texture, lively carbonation. Very nice.
