Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.

4/17/15 - Bottle from Beverage World. Pours a hazy gold color. Aroma is that funky saison/brettanomyces aroma/lemons too. Taste is great, smooth, light but slightly tart. Very balanced. I really like this one. Crooked Stave is consistently good! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hay, citrus, herbs, basement aromas, earthy, woody, pale, hazy, frothy, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, long finish, bitter, Considering the low ABV and the complexity this is an amazing beer.

375 ml, Batch 7 being the 2013 vintage shared by Willrunforbeer, much thanks. Awesome to try this at this point in the beers life. Hazy brighter gold color with thin spotty head. Aroma has a ton of oak right upfront with mild Brett and some dry straw.

The body is light but NOT thin. The flavor is smooth and a subtle version of the aroma. Nice mild lingering oak and Brett after the sip. Very well done.

Bottle at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a hazy gold with fluffy white head. Commercial description nails the tasting notes pretty well. Good little dry hopped barrel aged brett saison

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy light golden color with a white sticky head. The first aromas that hits is lemon! It smelly really tart with a lot of lemon, then you gett the sweaty brett funk, gooseberry, sour dough, a wheat character, some tropical hoppiness there aswell. Flavour wise is also really tart, lemony, gooseberry, peppery, funky. Prickly carbonation and a light body. The finish is just a little dry. Because it’s got such a light body means I could drink this all day in the summer. Excellent stuff!

Bottle. Pale golden. Pale malty, some honey, even meadowy florals, hay .. strawy notes. Soft citrus, lemon peel. Light, bit thin flavoured, but nicely so. Some funk, some barn. Hay malty, light oaky, med tarty finish. Like the flavour. A bit thin, like a watered-down gueuze. Isn’t overly irritating though, nice one-off sunny patio drink.

(375ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Mar 21 2015) Pours cloudy pale gold with a small white head. Aroma has funky cheese and wet hay, tart citrus, fruity, woody, fresh. Palate is kinda similar with lean citrus and light grains, pit fruit, hay, a little oak. Finishes dry and kinda mineral with lingering hop bitterness. Light bodied with average carb. Definitely on the funky side of flavour for a saison but still hits the style well, refreshing, really pleasant to drink. Would be perfect to drink all day in the summer if your wallet could sustain it. A bit too watery and short in the finish, maybe.

Pleasant lemony Brett character in the aroma and flavor. Taste is quite tart and I don’t really pick up too much of the barrel. Nonetheless a pretty well-done beer.

Bottle from Erzbierschof, Zurich. Pours hazy yellow, white foam. Acidic, lemony and Brett nose. Quite acidic also in the mouth, lots of lemony flavours. Dry finish. Interesting.
