Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of hops, citrus fruits, caramel, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, wood, roasted malt, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Papsoe (25090) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours brown with an orange hue and a dense and lacing off-white head. Bretty, farty nose atop some sour berries. Medium body, heavy funk and barnyard, very subtle roast and a distinct lactic tartness. Clearly a Sour - not much left of the original Black IPA. 270413

750 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks a ton, Blake! Bottled 7/12, #274/1531. Pours a murky plum-brown-amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of plums, dust, spuce, earthy funk, and some roast. Flavor of plums, lemon, earthy funk, oak, and roasted malts. Medium-bodied, with a tart mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Never would have thought of this as a black IPA.

Bottle thanks to Blake, thanks! Pour is cloudy brown with a tan head. Aroma is faintly tart, light sweet, and light dark fruit. Solid, not overwhelming.

Soapy head from slow pour. Beer comes through with a lot of piney, earthy and funky brett nose. Initial taste is big on the brett into the bitterness of the spruce tips. Interesting to say the least.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Notes of mint, pine, earthy, citrus, chocolate. Interesting beer, looking forward to the other releases from this brewery.

Dark brown small beige head. 3+ Very green leafy sprucey aroma, lightly funky. 7+ Flavour is similar quite green sort or funky lightly sour touch has sort of earthy quality to it. 7++ Average plus bodied palate. Enjoyable, I’d like to try a larger sample to revisit it. Bottle at Sourfest, Buffalo

Bottle. Highly carbonated black, some yeasty floaties. Slight sourness, floral, bitter finish spruce in the finish. Complex with a lot goin on at once, perhaps too much

Bottle. Huge spruce in the nose, some roast, light coffee, pine, earthiness, spice and herbal tinges. Opaque dark brown color, head is light tan, uneven, fine and lasting. Flavor profile is roasty, lightly sweet, more spruce here as well, with generous piney, hoppy flavors and bitterness and some darkly bready malt in the background. Generously effervescent, bubbly palate, body is medium. Very interesting and enjoyable stuff.
