COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Wild Brett is a series of R&D beers created to showcase the versatility of Brettanomyces, a yeast found naturally all over the world. Historically considered ”wild yeast”, Brett is responsible for 100% of the fermentation in the bottle you hold. This second installment of the series incorporates fresh Minneola tangelos, bitter orange peel and coriander in an unfiltered, slightly tart wild ale. Orange pours a golden hue delivering tropical fruit aromas and bright orange citrus flavors with a tart earthy finish.

From Three Guys Off the Scale to this one. A welcomed change. Generously shared by the kind souls at the Tampa Weekly Tasting. Pours a hazy yellow with a big white head. Nose is sweet citrus, orange peel, funk, some barnyard, lemon, and some peppery yeast. Flavor is similar- nice symphony of orange, apricot, and citrus on this one: orange peel, citrus, apricot, and some barnyard, funk, and yeast. Medium in body and very nice overall.

On tap @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Hazy bright orange appearance with a big white head and great lacing. Bright orange, citrusy aroma - lemon peels, bretty, pineapple, mangos, and papaya. Taste is orange peel, tangerines, light peach - super bright fruit characteristics - pineapples, mango and tropical fruit juice. Medium body with high carbonation. Very refreshing beer and probably my second-favorite of the series. I am glad to see this one become a year-round offering.

Gorgeous pour: tons of white head, stubborn lace. Big orange peel aroma right off the bat. Bretty yeast, spicy, fresh oranges. Crisp, refreshing flavor profile. Mildly tart; more of a saison than a sour. Tasty stuff.

750ml bottle, thanks Aaron! Split with my bride. Holy gusher! Once it settles down, it pours a cloudy orange color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is funky, Brett, some light orangey citrus. Medium on the palate with lively carbonation. Flavor is funky, lightly sour, citrus, orange and tangerine, Brett, with a fruity, funky finish. Very tasty. Sad I lost an ounce or two when it gushed.

750 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Bottled 8/11, #543/1125. Pours a cloudy pale gold color with a medium white head. But that was after this thing gushed for 20 minutes. Notes of orange citrus, lemon, peach, funk, and oak. Flavor has some bitterness on top of that, too. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, dry, bitter mouthfeel. Crisp. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to Blake. Pour is hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma and flavor with lots of orange blossom, tartness, light sweetness, and light dry spice. Good stuff, indigo the best though.

Gusher! Served at cellar temp. Might want to chill this one down prior to opening. Split with my wife tonight. The beer is hazy orange with a gargantuan, soapy white head. The aroma brings a heavy dose of brett funk, citrus, earth tones. Heavy Brett presence in the flavor, with orange character emerging mid to late palate. Oranges are stronger in the flavor than the aroma. Really clean and easy to drink. Lingering earthy funk and orange zest / peel. Quite tasty. I’ll certainly enjoy the rest of this one. I’d happily have this again.

Batch 8/11. Aroma is pleasant quite a bit of citrus and a balanced amount of coriander. The Brett is really starting to dominate though - lots of pineapple an tropical fruit. A low musty funkiness in the background. A medicinal note is also starting to appear but at a low level. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a pillowy white head that remains in some form throughout. Light lacing on the edges. Flavor starts out with a bright orange and tangerine citrus note. Mid palate the citrus recedes and in comes the Brett and the coriander. The coriander is light, but there is a ton of Brett flavor. Lots of pineapple and tropical fruit. A touch of a barnyard character, but only in the background. A bit of a cherry medicinal flavor when clod but it recedes as the beer warms. Low bitterness and a hint of astringency. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with effervescent carbonation. Only faint alcohol warmth and very low but present astringency. Overall a really nice beer and a cool example of what you can do with Brett. Side by side with a nice wit, I'm not sure which I would prefer; they are almost entirely different beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
