Medium yellow head, dark red-amber beer. Berries, wild fruit, "seathorn". Subdued fruit in the mouth; much barnyard Brett; with a dry finish and earthy notes. Dry, rather well-bodied, slick to oily. Strange combination, good result.

750ml bottle, split with a friend. Huge gusher. Pours a cloudy light amber color with a huge off white head. Aroma is funky, Brett. Medium on the palate with big, soft carbonation. Flavor is sour, floral, funky, Brett, a little bit of band-aid, with A rosey, floral finish. Interesting.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (3824) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - APR 22, 2012
Thanks to drabmuh for sharing this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass.
Bottle 779/1600
Pours a cloudy amber color with a large, lasting off-white head that eventually falls and leaves a few rings of lacing on the sides of the glass.
The nose brings some light barnyard and earth notes. Some cherry and light floral character in the background. Flavor has mild Brett, a touch of fruit, and a very light perfume element.
Flavor sticks around for awhile, coating the palate with a light funk, followed by a touch of bitterness on the way to a dry finish. Body is light with good carbonation.
Probably my least-favorite of the series. I didn’t get enough of the additives and the Brett wasn’t super forward. I liked all the components, but would have preferred for something to push forward to the front.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 KajII (463) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - APR 20, 2012
Bottle. The pour was a deep murky reddish orange with a huge (3-4 finger) off white fizzy head that quickly receded down to a thin layer with a small collar thus creating some fair spotty lacing.
The aroma was funky to say the least of a grain malt and a barnyard scented wild yeast, along with floral and berry esters and a good strong note of Brett yeast.
The taste was sourly sweet with a note of berries early on with a sour acetic taste forming rather quickly along with hints of floral herbs and Brett yeast towards the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time after the swallow, with a tart floral flavor along with a mild berry presence left to linger on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was just a little beyond light in body and had a strong dry texture with a pronounced prickly carbonation.
Overall a very interesting brew that had a nice tartness and a mild sweetness working in conjunction with one another perfectly, making this one hek of an enjoyable brew.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet tarts, herbs, florals, horse blanket, and citrus. Flavor of brett, berries, citrus, rose hips, vinous, and florals.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 potbeercollege (1329) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 27, 2012
750ml. Big gusher. Pours glowing reddish orange with nice white head. Brett horse/barnyard dominate aroma, little bit of rose hips and hibiscus. To me, the ingredients in the rouge don’t come out as much as the other three in the series. Lots of brett funk goodness though, especially nine months old.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 readbaron (58) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Huge gusher! Be careful with this one. Pours out a murky reddish brown with plentiful white foam. Nose is funky, earthy and vaguely citrus- must be the rose hips coming through. Taste is quite nice - refreshing, crisp, slightly tart. Feel is light and somewhat over carbed.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Suttree (3927) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Gushes when open, so beware...Orangish red, huge white head. Smells great - lots of bretty, barnyard funk, flowery, and cherry. Flavor is also flowery, with fruity notes, plus some funky, barnyard notes in the finish. I get some winey notes, as well. Very tasty. Thanks Secret Santa for this one!

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Sammy (6119) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 20, 2012
A wonderful story of brett, my love. A good sour, where the bitterness of rose hips and herbs that go into these teas only add to the story. Rouge is red but this baby was cloudy peachy coloured. Smooth for a sour, more of a tart ale. Bottle 1180 out of 1600. Good drinkability and introduction to these guys.
thanks jason B for this and all the sours.
