Tap at Beachwood BBQ Seal Beach for Sour Fest. Pours a full haze glowing peach orange with minimal foam, no lace. Nose is extremely tropical passionfruit smoothie. Taste is lactic, clean, lemon/lime/citric with juicy passionfruit. Palate is thin, near watery, but quenching with mild sourness. Very drinkable and quenching. Loved this one.

Tap at Crooked Stave. Dry hopped with 366 experimental hops and passionfruit added into the barrel. Murky orange pour. Weaker white foam. Spotty lace. Nose is out of this world : fresh blood orange, pomegranate, juicy key lime, bright sour fruits, passionfruit smackdown. Taste is salty, key lime, sharp blood orange and tangerine. Zesty, super fresh body. Long, lactic, citric palate. Outstanding. 6/1/2013 9/4/8/5/17=4.3

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Bottled, early release. It did indeed have some carbonation. This one is just spectacular, nice sourness, good funk, but the passion fruit and pomegranet character is jsut so fucking good.

750ml bottle shared by jmborggren. Hazy golden orange color. Thin, bubbly white head. Good floral, fruity, citrusy pomegrantey oak sour aroma. Kind of lemony. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation. Kind of slick texture. Moderate to bigger sour taste, lightly spicy, moderate sweet. Solid, interesting, slightly floral pomegrante-fruity sour. This is an interesting series.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dry hopped with 366. Hazy orange pour with nice fluffy white head, aroma brings nice notes of floral hops, mixed into nice fruit with orange, grapefruit, passionfruit, nice peach and tart lemon, hints of oak, vanilla sweetness mix into a touch of grass, biscuit, and more floral notes from the hibiscus, mango and peach also come through. Taste is a perfect blend of sweet fruit with passionfruit, peach, mango, slight biscuit, vanilla, oak notes with even more pineapple, slight grass, floral notes come through more towards the end as well, finishing with a good mix of dry, tart, and sweet. Very tasty, could drink a lot of this!

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange pour with nice fluffy white head, aroma knocked you over with passionfruit, big big passionfruit notes, slight floral earthy tones, nice tart lactic notes with lemon, slight vanilla, oak in there as well, but the dominant nose was passionfruit. Taste was a mix of tart lemon, biscuit, slight vanilla going into dominating passionfruit, slight floral, grass notes, hints of funk as well, finishing tart, slightly bitter, dry. Intense, but almost to a point where it is too much.

750 ml bottle shared by NielsenRatings at the RBWG Grand Tasting - thanks again, A@ron! Pours a hazy gold, kind of on the dull end of the golden spectrum, with some loose bubbles for a head. Notes of lemon, herbs, pomegranate, lavender, passionfruit, wheat, dough, and white pepper. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, herbal, spicy mouthfeel. Awesome. My favorite of the WWB lineup, just above I and Y.

750 ml bottle to taster (shared by jmborggren). Looks good; a cloudy orange with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes floral and sour notes with a nice, tart mouthfeel. Good stuff!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle from adnielsen. Shared in line at New Glarus. Pours a hazy dulled amber orange hue, dulled hazy body with a frothy whitish head atop. Dies to a firm hazy layer, decent lacing and stick around. Aromas are decent pomegranate and funk, firmer funk and cobwebs as we get into it. Dusty, bretty horseblanket with straw. Decent oak, a touch of vanilla hits with straw, decent sourness of lemon, red and dark fruit touches. Initial is firmly sour and bretty, good presence a bit more potent than the nose. Lemony lactic and firm bretty elements are dry, funky, and tart. Lemon, gentle mellow fruit pomegranate, some nice sourness. Funk starts to take over into the backend, dry and oaky, cobwebs with nice sourness to allay an overrun bretty feel. Dry, oaky, some orange with firm brett, gentle pomegranate. Decent to middling sourness, firm oak, bit of vanilla and firm funk throughout. Not as fruity as I anticipated, but still quite lovely. Well done.

In short: A tart, fruity, floral and slightly funky orange beer. Original, tasty, refreshing. Lovely.
How: Bottle 750ml, shared at post-HF FoFA 2013.
The look: Cloudy pale orange body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is mostly very fruity with all kinds of exotic fruits along with a mild scented flowery component and only light funky and oaky notes. In mouth the beer offers a medium body, crisp texture, plenty of carbonation. Taste is again dominantly fruity. Exotic fruits, pomegranate, tart lemons, flowers, some bright and clean funk. An assertive tartness with bright flavors that makes the beer very refreshing. Very harmonious flavors. I really liked this one, my favorite of all the Crooked Stave Wild Wild Brett I’ve had so far. I’d drink this beer on a regular basis, too bad it is as rare as a dance club hit song about the happiness of a 14th of marriage.
