COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Wild Brett is a series of R&D beers created to showcase the versatility of Brettanomyces, a yeast found naturally all over the world. Historically considered ”wild yeast”, Brett is responsible for 100% of the fermentation in the bottle you hold. This third installment of the series which incorporates honey, turmeric, mango and spices was inspired by the savory sweet combinations found in Southern Indian cuisine. Yellow pours a golden hue delivering tropical fruit aromas mixed with a medley of spice, earthy citrus flavors and a dry tart finish.

Pours a hazed golden straw color with a white head. A really interesting aroma. Tropical fruits such as pineapple and mango, lots of citrus, and a tart lactic note. There is an interesting tea-like aroma, menthol, and tumeric as well. The flavor is grassy and mildly herbal. Tumeric is present, plenty of mango and lemon, and a light tartness. A bit of ginger flavor, almost no malt character, and a dry finish. Sort of all over the place, but enjoyable.

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Thanks catman! Pours cloudy pale yellow with a frothy white head. Mild herbals in the nose, tangy lemons, mellow funk. Light sweet flavor with citric lemon bite, dry hay, herbs. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty dry on the finish with more herbs, basil, tart lemons. Good one.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a hazy yellow color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy sour aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour flavor with a medium to heavy sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer for style.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2012 Bottle @ home. Somewhat cloudy, brownish golden appearance with a small white head. Fairly spicy, light coriander (hmmm, not exactly sure how Indian coriander differs from other coriander), lightly tart, lemon/tangerine/mango, a touch peppery aroma. Mild pineapple bretty tartness in the flavor along with a moderate peppery, coriander spiciness and lemon/mango citrus fruitiness. Maybe my least favorite of the WWB’s thus far but it’s still enjoyable and fun to drink. Actually, kind of seems have low carbonation and little head retention. I don’t remember noting issues with low carbonation with the previous WWB, though WWBR did have some issues with overcarbonation. Update: The second bottle I opened gushed and completely foamed up. I enjoyed this one a fair amount more the second time around. The finish seemed more tart and was overall more refreshing. Not sure why this whole series isn’t classified as wild ales.

>> Thank you Aaron for the share. Pours cloudy light golden. Nose is really lovely reminiscent of Upright’s use of Old Tom Gin barrels: sage, yellow rose, yarrow, squash. Taste is juicy, salty, starfruit, Gin barrel. Palate is aerated, refreshing. Impressive.
