4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at Freshcraft. Very slightly cloudy gold with a thin head that doesn’t last long. Great aroma of some sour Brett, some oak, and a bright fruitiness--not quite citric, but like mango or guava or passion fruit. Great flavor, not too intense but also complex. I get some sour lighter fruits like on the nose, guava and orange primarily, but with an oaked tone that brings some light effervescent sourness right where it belongs. Pale malt adds some sweetness, combined with slightly sour complex fruitiness make this very drinkable and super delicious.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Didn’t get the batch date or bottle number on this one. Pours a hazy, pale gold color with a small off-white head. Notes of herbs, honey, ginger, pepper, and pale malts, along with some mango and tropical fruits. Good funk. Light-bodied, with an herbal, dry, mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a really unique beer with a variety of complex flavors... the turmeric and mango together bring out an exotic quality that would probably pair well with Indian or other ethnic foods. Overall a very delicious beer, with the perfect balance of fruit and spice... I am a huge fan!... another great one from Crooked Stave.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It pours a hazy orangeish gold with a foamy white head that doesn’t leave too much lacing. More and more floaties in secondary pours.
The smell of this one is great. Nice mango, some "honey" (sugar), lemon, turmeric, and coriander. Of course the brett is there but not as up front as I was expecting.
The flavor is pretty nice. I feel like brett+mango+tumeric is a pretty obvious combo. The flavors, as expected, work nicely here. The honey doesn’t add a huge amount of sweetness actually, the flavor is rather spicy and fruity but not too sweet. It is extremely refreshing.
Next up Asafoetida+brett?

750ml bottle purchased at Mondo Vino in Denver. pours a deep hazy golden with a 2+ finger white head. citrus, spice and barnyard nose - the Brett characters accompany the spices well. dry medium body with funk, citrus, coriander, mango, and spices throughout. very dry finish with a nice level of citrus tartness on the back end. really love the 100% Brett fermentation on this one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy light golden orange color with a finger or so of fizzy foam. On the nose its tart with hints of tropical citrus fruit, exotic spice and barnyard funk. On the palate its bright and focused. Nice spicy funk mingle with tart lemon and a sweet mango tropical backdrop. All these aspects are balanced beautifully and none of them outshine the other. This beer was tremendously drinkable and full of complexity all the while. YUM !

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2013 Bottle 597/1488 from 12/2011 drank in April, 2012. Medium fast fading head and minor lacing. Nice bright yellow...cloudy yeasty pour at the end. Nose starts out spicy with some earthy funk but becomes big lemony citrus with warmth and time. Huge lemon citrus flavors with tart and warm finishing spice from the tumeric presumably. Like a spicy, super citrusy saison....actually, maybe more like a gueze without the minerality.
>>>rerate. Tap at Violet release. Target than I remember. Still lemon driven.
Mango and honey aren’t really apparent. Very pleasantly surprised by this beer-this could have been a mess. Went great with grilled chicken kabobs marinated in Bulgarian yogurt, mint, curry, and garlic. Want to get some more and lay it down.
