On tap at Brewtopia ’04. Poured a deep orange red with minimal head. Had a nutty taste with some decent bitterness and a good amount of alcohol aftertaste. The bitterenss renmained fairly well balanced throughout and the alcohol, while present, didn’t overwhelm the taste.

red-brown pour, off-white head aroma is pretty malty, with some pear and other fruit tastes kind of watered down, there’s some malt and very slight bitterness in the finish, but it’s kinda boring and i do not believe there’s 7% abv in here thin body also, but i guess that complements the lack of flavor

Bottle. Pours red with a beige head. Sweet aroma with toasty malt and earthy hoppy notes. The flavor is just a bit boozy, with caramel, toast and just a touch of hops. Pretty good.

Sweet aroma, mainly of caramelized malts, and a definite if small component of alcohol. (I know, the ABV is not high, but I smell it.) Overall, very pleasing. The appearance is amber, of course, with a modest white head. Very attractive. The flavor is roasted malts, caramel, toffee, minor hop contribution. The finish is mainly sweet malts, and is very pleasing as well. Overall, a very respectable beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a murky amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Very, very light aroma of malt. I really had to get my nose down into the glass to pull anything out of this one. Thankfully, the flavor was more forthcoming with caramel malt up front and some dry hops towards the finish. Very little sweetness to the malt and the hops finish was short-lived. Meh.

bottle from joekinty: pours a dark amber caramel colour with a small off white head. a nice deep malt aroma full of caramel with a decent hop profile to go with it, some dark breads also decent aroma. flavour is very bready with a toffe malt that is a little dirty tasting, some earth hops round out the flavour and make it quit enjoyable not the best amber i have ahd but a good drinker.

12 ounce bottle in a pint glass. Caramel and mild chocolate aroma. Toasted caramel malty flavor with mild ripe fruit and mild bitter and nutty finish. Very malty. medium-full body, medium carbo. Pretty damn good for an amber ale.
