Meant to be a porter recipe from the 1930s. As a historical recreation it is interesting, but no more. The initial nice porter (darker) malty nose and flavour makes way for a fair amount of sourness, but it’s not a satisfying mouthful. It’s a bit thin for me and doesn’t have complex enough flavours.
