Cask Handpump at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms, Liverpool 20/02/2009 Slightly spicy aroma. Amber mid brown coloured and fruity with a ginger spice flavour. Floral. A little dry in the finish.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Ranelagh. A beer for the financial season. As the lady behind the bar pointed out, this should probably have been free. Never mind, it’s worth the purchase even in this period of monitary restraint. Dark amber with a very thin white head and reasonable condition. Very floral and aromatic with hints of Coca Cola and lots of herbs and spice. A very unusual but really tasty beer in a similar style to Umbel Magna, which I also like. Faint bitterness in the finish with some more spice that gives it a really interesting and clean feeling delivery. Something a little different and I like it.
