Golden colour, thin white head. Nose is strong flowery/floral hops. Taste is floral and fruity with a dry hoppy finish. Strong flowery English bitter. Good flavours.

The Crown, Nuneaton. Bright orange gold with a fine white collar shrinking to a halo. Good tang of orange-accented hoppiness on the nose; some earthy yeast, pineapple jelly. Crisp and biscuity with tangy hop, malted milk linger, ripe satsuma burps. Good.

Cask at Cloisters ... amber thin white head ... light orange hop ... grassy bitterness ... dry linger ... mostly hop dominated.

Bottle thanx to Joes. A clear yellow/golden colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of fruits, malt with some hops. The taste has a nice bitterness with sweets of fruits, like orange with citrus. There are malts. It’s fresh. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Sharp yeast aroma, citrus, fresh grass. Yellow colour, hazy, white head, good lace. Light sweet, light sourish and pretty bitter start, in the finish almost just the hop bitterness. Citric (lime), malty and grassy. Dry mouth feel in the finish, medium body. Very unusual but nice Golden Ale.

Cask conditioned - handpump - New Inn, Cropton. A golden coloured beer with a tight white head and lacing. The aroma is dry with hints of lemon. Dry and fairly ordinary in the mouth with the merest hint at hoppiness.

Cask in Bon accord. Aroma is noteably sulphury, grassy and pale malt character. Taste is thin but tasty sweet pale malts with again the sulphur playing a part.

Cask@The Rake, London. Golden colour, minor head. Aroma is eggy, malty, hoppy and earthy. Flavour is very much the same, with focus on the eggyness.

Bit of a disappointment. Smell is some sour yeast, some mild toast. Pours cloudy with a very quickly dissappearing head. Mouthfeel is thin, taste uninspiring, and lingering bitterness quickly turns astringent. considering the quality low alcohol north England Ales around, this is not worth the effort.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours ever so slightly hazy, pale amber with a huge, rough head - shaving foam style. Malty, lightly tart nose. Thin somewhat watery body dominated by a light sourness on a background of light, nutty notes. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Obviously another bottle conditioned English Ale gone bad. Sigh. 200606
