Black with a small off-white head. Aroma of roast malt, licorice, ink and a touch of smoke. Sweet chocolate and licorice flavour with a roasted finish. Rather plain

(Bottle) Pours near black with a light brown head. The aroma holds suede, coffee, medicine, dark chocolate, berries, black currant and roasted barely. The flavour holds some bitterness. Notes of menthol, light smoke, salt liquorice, chocolate, coffee, gunpowder and some berries. The mouthfeel is light oily and smooth with a light carbonation. Sal ammoniac finish. Medium bodied.

Dark brown with a small tan head. Malty with fruity tones. Malt, roasted, coffee and liquorice. Medium to full body with a nice, balanced finish.

En totalsågat ale vilket känns lite spännande. Ser åtminstone ut som en IS med medelhögt skum. Lite märklig doft av unket sädesupplag och choklad. Smaken maltig åt chokladhållet, inte direkt fyllig utan snarare lätt syrlig. Nya Zealändska Riwaka och Herculeshumle ger lätt beska och blommiga och fruktiga nyanser. Kanske inte ska jämföras med eller kallas IS men en fin chokladstout med lite annorlunda karaktär. Gott så!

Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Watery and not good at all. Light notes of roasted malt, coffee and something strange that I could not put my finger on.

Aroma: Chocolate, roasty, like very burnt. Taste: Chocolate, Coffe and a bizarr acidity that doesn’t taste right. Mouthfeel: That acidity makes your mouth feel bad...

Black color; small head. Aroma of roasted malt, glue, cookies, smoke, vanilla, wood, light phenols... Interesting. The body is thinner than expected; there is a quite good roasted malt flavor, quite dry, but also a note of liquorice and phenol, and oxidization. The final is a bit metallic. Good but somehow strange.

Botella. Clear black colour, medium beige head. Roasty malty aroma with liqourice and chocolate. Ok mouthfeel. Flavour has roasted malt, with average chocolate and liqourice. Rather short finish.

Bottled (thanks omhper). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee, liquorice, some roasted malts, mild ashes as well as some mild toasted and tarry notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some toast, mild toffee as well as some hops and mild notes of fudge.

Karaktären är anslående tråkig. Att det är en stout måste man läsa sig till på etiketten. Smakupplevelsen blir mest en jakt på den förlorade beskan. Ett mysterium för Dan Brown att skriva en bästsäljare om.
