Hand pulled at the Fighting Cocks, Moseley. Dark golden. Sweet, cakey rich malt. Burnt cake. Cream malt sugar aftertaste. Didn’t really understand what was going on here and consequently didn’t really dig it.

Cask at a random chosen pub in Greenwich, don’t know the name any more though. Clear blond coloured beer with no carbonation and a small white head. Slightly infected hinted aroma with touches of hops and creamy bitter hops. Medium to full palate. Finish is bitter hoppy with some bread yeasty touches. Ok.

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours golden with a decent head. The nose has gentle citrus zing but also a worrying apple zing. The taste is more of the same. The palate has a light to medium body and texture with a clean gentle finish. Overall, reasonable but slightly oxidised, methinks!

Cask at The Gate, Northwood (Ember Inn). A golden/amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Musty, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes of citrus fruit, bitter, hoppy. Rather unbalanced and hard work.

Cask, handpump at The Mitre, Cambridge, 15.02.12 Orangey/gold in colour with a white head and great clarity, looks very good. Good citrussy burst, citrussy throughout, good flourish of citrus (you may have guessed it’s very citrussy) and then bittersweetness on the finish, with dryness at the end to complete the picture, really nice beer, surprised that others have found it not so good. On tap at the Magpie. 2012 Hops! Clear amber gold beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. Pale malt. Hops are mild citrus orange and grapefruit. More bitterness than fruit - must be British hops! Okay but really not a top hop drink at all.

DruncanVeasey (5146) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2012
Live in Brum. Honey amber with a low head. Light citric, nondescript, earthy malt aroma. Creamy malt and husk bullying bland lemony, wet woodland hops which are certainly are not top. Red apple hints, almond. Boring.

Goldon color with a small off white head. The nose is of cut grass, some spring fruits, fresh. The taste is a bit tangy and acidic, a dry dry. Light bitter finish. Soft carbonation. Overall, an OK beer, though not particularly experimental at all.
