US version of Two Pints.
A classic English ale using Challenger and Goldings hops. A hoppy flavour and nutty aftertaste.

(500 ml bottle from Bootleggers) Pours pure amber with a quickly-rising large off-white head. Aroma of caramel, light bread. Mouthfeel smooth, light-medium and somewhat filtered feel. Flavor is malt-forward but a little mild - caramel, lightly toasty, a bit of licorice. Just a touch of a hoppy pinch in the finish. Not bad, nothing off.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is very fruity - peach/apricot. Near medium body with mildly foamy carbonation. Flavor starts peach and does end woody/nutty. Flavors are so mild, and they seem to wear out the nose abilities, so the flavor goes down in intensity, leaving some peachy fruity hop bitter. Still it’s a damn good ale.

Cloudy orange color and a nice white head. This doesn’t look half bad. Nose and flavor are both quite mild, verging very much on bland. There is just a bit of earthy hops and some caramel and toffee malts. Overall, it is very light and dry hence very drinkable. There is really nothing at all though to grab your attention and as such this falls away into a sea of bland English ales. The one unique thing is that the carbonation is at a surprisingly high level for an English ale, even a bottled one, but I am actually thinking in this case that is a dubious virtue at best. This is my one hundreth English beer rating and it’s unfortunate that it is not something I can use as a means of praising England’s wonderful brewing culture though it is pretty typical of the ales we get from there here which tend towards being bland and in poor condition.
