Sweet mashy aroma. Full bitter retronasals, and a very heavy woody body. Finish also woody. Very solid and uncompromising. Very good bitter with no gimmicks.

Cask@GBBF2011. Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some wood, mild earth and some caramel. Also some mild syrupy notes. Flavour is wood, syrup, mild wood and some nuttyness.

Dull brown with a thin off white head. Nice aroma of malt and burnt toast. Nics malt and burnt toast flavour would be nicer if it was a little smoother.

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, toasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, copper-colored beer with a small, off-white head. Caramel on the nose, some fruityness and not much else. Roasted, coffee-like hints though. The flavor is pretty much the same, roasted malts leaning towards coffee, as well as fruityness and caramel. Not much bitterness detected. Medium body. Caramel finish with roasted malts. A bitter that failed to impress me in any way. 110318
