COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
High quality English malts give this ale strong roast and caramel flavors. The malt backbone is balanced by American Cascade & Centennial hops. These hops provide a moderate to strong bitterness to balance the sweet & roasty malts, as well as a light citrus hop aroma.

Note: Formerly Wintervention.

Growler provided by UDbeernut at my homebrew bottling party extravaganza this past week. Fresh from the tap that night. Deep tea brown in the glass with a decent light tan head. Hops helix about the beautifully balanced malts, voicing their input from time to time in waves of citrus and pine. Light bacon tone with caramel on top....whats not to love? Finish is slow and slick. Very nice.... Go Hutch!

Draught from Barcade. Poured brown, kind of malty and some fruits. Ok but not too interesting.

A: dark amber color, slight off white head with fair retention. S: roasty malt, slight citrus T: roasted malt base and citrus hop. More bitter than many brown ales but it works. M: medium bodied.

On tap at Crossroads. Pours a clear ruby brown with a medium sized beige head. Huge nutty malt, large toast and nutty roast. Tons of flavor, roast and toast. Nutty malt, long and earthy. Probably the most flavorful brown ale I’ve ever had. Excellent stuff.

Growler filled at Oliver’s in Albany and consumed the next day. Pours a clear brown with red highlights that allows light to pass with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first third of the glass and laced the glass well. Pleasant aroma of pine with some citrus notes as well. There is some malt present in the nose as well. The flavor begins with malt and is quickly washed over by some lightly resinous piney hops. A bit of spice from the hops as well. Moderate bitterness at the finish lingers briefly beyond the swallow. Medium bodied. This is an enjoyable beer that I could drink all day. Actually, come to think of it, I did!
