Rounded mouthfeel, sappy, mild hop tang, with a balanced fruit/malt weight. Shortish finish. Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 4, 2005 On tap at the Oakdale Arms Beer Fest, Feb. 21 2005. Light brown ale with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and fresh pinhey hops. Good malt with flagrant hops and nutty notes. The body is warm and rich. Peppery notes develops as beer warms up. SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 28, 2005 Oakdale Arms Beer Festival. Spanking. Dark oily hops dripping and oozing. Oaky, dark and delicious. Suck in oily citric, breathe out woody pine. Cat’s pee nose. Beer of the festival and beer of the day. Stands out from the rest like a rose on a bed of turnips. Deep copper colour, with a resiny aroma. Good balance of malt and hops, with some resin notes. Good, lasting dryness afterwards.
