Copper colour. Big hoppy aroma with lots of pine and oily resins. Lip-smacking hops in the flavour too - lots of citrus and tropical fruit. Very tangy and aromatic. Classic Crouch Vale fare. Quite American in style. Cask (gravity dispense), Oakdale Arms Beer Festival, February 2005.

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Professional brown session Bitter. Rounded mouthfeel, sappy, mild hop tang, with a balanced fruit/malt weight. Shortish finish.

On tap at the Oakdale Arms Beer Fest, Feb. 21 2005. Light brown ale with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and fresh pinhey hops. Good malt with flagrant hops and nutty notes. The body is warm and rich. Peppery notes develops as beer warms up.

Oakdale Arms Beer Festival. Spanking. Dark oily hops dripping and oozing. Oaky, dark and delicious. Suck in oily citric, breathe out woody pine. Cat’s pee nose. Beer of the festival and beer of the day. Stands out from the rest like a rose on a bed of turnips.

Cask @ Oakdale Arms BF. Deep copper colour, with a resiny aroma. Good balance of malt and hops, with some resin notes. Good, lasting dryness afterwards.
