COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Seasonal;
Brewer has fun with Styrian Golding hops and produces a superb, deep orangey-gold beer with a bitter tangerine/peach aroma and rounded Maris Otter and Pearl malt body.

Cask @ Market Porter, Borough SE1. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty hoppy grapefruit flavor. Hasa slightly sweetish malty grapefruit hoppy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Handpulled cask at the Lower Red Lion, St. Albans during september. Gold with a white head. Oroma of oranges. Citrus lemon/grapfruit hops. Decent.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Pale gold with white head. Ah, the old Goldings hop, perfumey, peachy, hop oily, all the typical Goldings adjectives were used in the Pub last night and yes they were spot on, the pub tasting sessions are getting pretty good. There is a slight sweetness to the beer, quite honeyed which took the edge off the hops for me, but still a pretty decent beer.

On cask at The Rake (Borough). Slightly hazy gold pour with a small frothy off-white head. Pungent, slightly sour UK hop (now I’m entering this, I see it’s Styrian Goldings - cool, I thought it was Goldings) funk aroma, with a mild oaty grain backing it adequately. The taste was quite acidic, but unlike the Dreadnought that preceded it, this one worked for me - enough malt profile to prevent me thinking even remotely that this might be a pint of dishwater. Light bodied for all that, it had a still, slick, solidly acidic mouthfeel, with a long funky finish. A good Goldings Golden!

Cask at peterborough beer fest. First beer of the fest! Alround rating: Pale maklts, honey character, orangey and grassy bitterness. Tasty and typical of crouch vale, but lacking the killer citrus hop punch.

(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 10 Aug 2008) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, floral nose with citrussy hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange, apricots and citrussy hops in the finish. Balanced sweetness, generous bitterness. Nice beer in the usual Crouch Vale vein.

Cask at Churchil’s, Ramsgate: Bright golden yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is very fruity with plenty of hops. Taste is very similar, lots and lots of fruit and the hops are lovely. Very good pint.

Cask-conditioned at The Wenlock, 1/8/08. Amber coloured with a decent white head. Hoppy aroma with plenty of oranges, apricots and grass. Flavour started with some fruity malt followed by citrus and a long juicy hop finish. Excellent.
