Bottled (from AbM). Amber/copper colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild nuttyness with some pleasant fruity and sweet malty notes. Also some mild resiny and slightly birch sap like notes as well. Flavour is nutty, sweet caramel, some wood and mild birch sap as well as some resiny notes.

Pours a copper colour with a white lacy head. Aroma of nuts, heavy caramel and hay. Flavour of caramel, strong grassy hops, nuts, bread and mild herbal notes. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Lingering bitter finish with some mild sweetness. Good.

Bottle. Toffee, barley malt, and earthy yeast aroma. Clear amber with a small white head. Earthy yeast and barley malt flavor with a subtle grassy finish. Medium body and carbonation. Tasty stuff.

Handpull at Old Fountain. Deep clear refractive copper-amber, smallish frothy lasting beige head. Light caramel aroma, grassy and fruity - pleasant, borders on sweet. Taste has more grapeseed bitterness, definitely fruity, just a whisper of cocoa. Average slick/syrupy mouthfeel, low carbonation, a bit pungently bitter in the finish, some acidity in the linger.

Cask at Christian Firtal, in perfect condition. Copper with a thin white head. Aroma of toffee and bready malt, some hay and grassy and floral hop notes, and a fine fruity note. Dry, but full bodied with a clean and perfectly balanced malty, grassy and fruity flavour with a nice bitter finish. One of those beers that makes you think "if all sub-4% brown bitters were like this............."
