3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 yngwie (9196) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 22, 2011
Cask at the Wharf. A clear, amber beer with a small, off-white head. Rather weak aroma, with a maltyness in the back. The palate is smooth and medium bodied, with a nice bitterness. Nuttyness and some caramel, as well as citrusy, slightly grassy hops. Lasting bitterness. A quite decent one, but I can’t really see myself drinking it all night long. 110417

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 madmitch76 (6193) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2011
5th August 2007 Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. A big dissapointment after the Amarillo, probably got these the wrong way round. Watery palate and flavours that still manages to be bitter. Not much going for this.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Svesse (4392) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2010
(Cask at Castle, Chancery Lane, London, 24 Nov 2010) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of orange, dried apricots, hints of caramel and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, orange, toast and earthy hops in a finish with a decent bitterness. Rather light body, with balanced sweetness. Very tasty and highly drinkable. Nice one.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sm89walt (1419) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2010
Cask (gravity) - Norwich Beer Festival 2010. Clear amber/copper with a lasting, bubbly white head & light lacework. Lemon, orange, floral hops and sweet pale malt aromas - just a touch of apple at the back. All those lovely aromas come through on the tongue, some biscuity malt with a decent length finish. A bit of sharpness on the end & a light, sessionable body. Another solid offering from Crouch Vale.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maeib (6634) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2010
Cask Conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head. A fruity beer with apply notes, especially in the aroma. Not got the Crouch Vale hoppiness I expect, instead being quite a malty beer. Might not have been at its best.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (7473) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2010
Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest 2010. Copper with white head. Ahh, a good old session bitter, well balanced with a darker malty body, a touch sharp, green and then an oily light hop. Good stuff which I would like to try outside of a festival.
