Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Pale gold with a white foam. Aromas are lemon with grapefruit and grassy notes. Flavours are caramel with yeast and zesty lemon. Bitter and quite dry on the finish. Pretty atypical of the style. Decent.

Half pint, cask found in good condition at Craft Beer Co. Clear golden body, bright, naked surface. Mid-sweet fruity hops to the nose. Fruit hoppy taste of lemon, and pale malts. Resinous bitterness to the finish. More or less true to the style (London, 01.08.011).

quite meek compared to other crouch vale beers but still good. very pale. subdued aroma, but fresh and yeasty/malty, light floral hops. round but light bready malt, surprising bitterness, not much hop flavour. faint fruit salad pineapple note. ok but a bit flimsy.

15th July 2010. Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear gold beer, residual suddy head. Semi dry palate. Fresh orange accompanied by some bitterish marmalade. That’s about it but quite pleasant and drinkable. Finishes fairly dry with a lingering mild bitter aftertaste.
