A Tri-nation brew created for the Great Australian Beer SpecTapular as a low alcohol alternative to the 6-10% ABV ’hop bombs’ currently flooding the market. Croucher have hoped with ANZUS IPA to give these three nations another shot at working together in harmony - however rather than it being on a military basis, this time it would be on the craft beer frontier... specifically HOPS! Representing New Zealand was the newly released Kohatu, the Australian representative was our new favourite hop Galaxy, and the new US release Zythos.
Draught only.

Rating #1363 7.12.2014 355mL Bottle from the 2014 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, piney, lemon zesty and cookie dough malt. Taste is more of the same, dry piney citrusy hops and pastry malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious

Gold pour with a decent white head. Pine, tropical fruit, caramel, citrus aromas. Taste is pine, citrus, stone fruit, caramel. A little sweetness that gives way to a nice long bitter finish

From a bottle. Oh my God, this could be my new favourite IPA, so well balanced with the malt and hop punch. Fantastic stuff.

22 oz bottle poured. Much thanks Dad for thinking of me when you were down in New Zealand. Pours a clear golden color with a thin oily head. Sweet fruit and hop forward aroma. Thicker body with grassy hops, slight fruit, and mild grain finish. Nice hop character throughout. Overall, good IPA.

330 ml bottle. Clear golden orange, off-white foam settles and mostly lasts. Sweet tropical fruity hop aroma. Taste is mostly a tropical fruity punchbowl, some grapefruit, forest and floral notes, moderately malty, a bit oily and resiny. Softer carbonation, medium bodied, more aggressively hopped. Finish is more floral grapefruit. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Pours a pure gold colour with a short lasting white head. Lovely aromas of citrus, rosewater, a hint of pine, banana bread, and something unidentifiably pleasant. Flavours bring pine, citrus and sweet malts before finishing quickly and quietly; leaving only a mild bitterness and slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Visual: Pours clear golden amber with a small dissipating head, a thin layer of very micro retention, spread out large CO2 slow steady streams. Nose: aromatic tangerine-apricot-peach hops, almost perfume-like. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: resin, pine Mid-palate: fizzy-tingly, (lvl-2)-sweetness, (MAIN) grassy, apricot, more pine, caramel malts Finish: burpy, soft-bitter + salty hopped finish. Summary: Orchard fruit and pine with a SALTY bitter hopped finish; quite interesting to say the least. With so many IPAs out there, this one isn’t to my taste.
