A Tri-nation brew created for the Great Australian Beer SpecTapular as a low alcohol alternative to the 6-10% ABV ’hop bombs’ currently flooding the market. Croucher have hoped with ANZUS IPA to give these three nations another shot at working together in harmony - however rather than it being on a military basis, this time it would be on the craft beer frontier... specifically HOPS! Representing New Zealand was the newly released Kohatu, the Australian representative was our new favourite hop Galaxy, and the new US release Zythos.
Draught only.

On tap at Brew, Rotorua. Clear gold amber hue with a small white ring and some lacing. Delicious citrus, spruce, tropical fruit aromas with caramel lurking in the background. Mild-moderate sweet, mostly bitter taste. Soft carbonation, mildly oily texture, bitter dry finish. Yum Yum, loved the hop combo much.

From bottle in IPA glass; obviously I had to try this one. It pours fairly clear golden/amber with lively CO2 and a solid one-finger head. Nose is more modest than most IPA’s, citrus hops and a bit of malt. Very smooth drinking and tasty with a mildly bitter finish. It was past its BB date, but still very nice.

From a 500ml bottle on 3/4/2016 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a clear golden with a medium head. Has a pleasant fruity, hoppy nose. The flavour features bready malt, some sweet citrus (mandarine, tangerine), and some relativey firm hops. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A pretty solid IPA. As I’ve just had a bottle, clearly not draught only any longer.

Draught at brew craft beer pub in Tauranga. Clear gold. Aroma of tropical fruit juice, citrus, caramel. Taste is sweet, with some citrus tartness, and a touch of hop bitterness. Palate is creamy, sticky, long dry finish.

Rating #1363 7.12.2014 355mL Bottle from the 2014 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, piney, lemon zesty and cookie dough malt. Taste is more of the same, dry piney citrusy hops and pastry malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious
