COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tasting Notes: Appearance - A rich rose-gold hue, with good head. Aroma - Massive up front fruit with strong freshly crushed grain. Passionfruit and lychees predominate with a stonefruit undertone - fruit salad on weetbix. Grassiness from three Nelson hop varieties compliment the fruit to give an aroma reminiscent of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but the grunt in the palate leaves you in no doubt that this is a very serious beer. Body & Mouthfeel - Very smooth with a gorgeous lingering finish. Delicious burps.

The best example of an American-style pale ale coming out of New Zealand. Perfect in every way, with a fantastic floral aroma coming from New Zealand grown Cascade hops. As the bottle says - lovely burps.

New 500ml bottle. Very nice looking, big head and golden colour. Lots of hops on the palate. Well balanced. Very drinkable.

Tap @ Galbraith’s Hazy, brown-gold pour with a short white head leaving moderate lace. Light caramel nose. Medium body and carbonation. Caramel, pine, almonds, toast and some citrus. Short, dry, bitter finish. Reminds me of SN Green - very sessionable. Another winner from Croucher!

Pours a nice dark copper with quickly fading head and ok lacing. Very subtle aroma of citus/grapefruit and hop resin. I very nice resin and subtle citus flavor with a decent malt backing. Being a pale ale the flavour is light but oh boy it is perfectly balanced with the malt, this is very drinkable a great quaffer kudos Croucher.

Nice rich malty character with a fair smattering of hops. A slight brett spicyness not overpowering but pleasant.

Have tried this one a few times over past year. Sampled from tap at Wine Cellar in Auckland last week. Appearance is deepish amber. Fruity aroma (peaches?) invites a taste. Flavour has nice balance of fruit hops and malts. Nice level of bitterness. Very nice!!

Tap FYO rigger from The Thirsty Bloke Chch. Golden orange with heaps of fruity hop aroma. great beer when fresh, one of the best NZ apa’s (did i mention the fresh part?) Have had a few disapointing versions of this but now that I’ve had a fresh well stored version I’m a massive fan. Get this beer on tap and you too will join the band wagon!! only bad part is I’m back in Auckland with the Tap that I got if from back in Christchurch!!!!!

Tap at Underground. Great beer, the best of their regulars IMHO. Aromas of flowers, grass, and caramel. Taste has a sweet start, followed by long-lasting bitterness. Velvet in the palate, and medium body. Amber colour, the head does not last long.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2010 330ml bottle. Fantastic aroma. Very strong fruity aroma particularly dried fruit (date, raisin) initially then very peachy mango-ish. Average sized creamy off-white diminishing head, slightly hazy light amber hue. Fruity sweetness especially date flavour and caramel, long bitter finish. Low level of carbonation. Perhaps a little too peachy - reminiscent of Speights apricot flavoured summer harvest wheat beer - a drain pour, though this beer is in a totally different league. A nice beer. Re-rate: 1/2/10 Draught at Galbraith’s Alehouse, Auckland. not peachy this time, wonderful passion fruit and citrus aromas, smooth . Much better on tap.

Dark reddish. Short lasting head. Fruity nose, a little tangy at first, maybe a bit too carbonated. Fruity flavor with a good balance of maltiness and hops. Pomerance and grapefruit. Delicious burps? Yeah!
