I was lucky enough to have this in three forms - fresh from the conditioning tank at the brewery, bottled from the same tank, and on tap at the Underground bar. It was three different experiences. I’ll rate the on tap product since that’s the one people will taste, though my favourite was the bottled. The nose is a beautiful spicy blend of citrus, coriander, and spiced nuts. A hint of hot plastic was the only problem with this beer, and that was only present in the on tap version. Perhaps lines? The sensation of drinking this is beautiful - full and creamy. The flavour is complex, with a warming alcohol note tying together a huge taste bomb including components like cinnamon, rum-soaked christmas pudding, and caramelised nuts. The finish was long and pleasing, with that same warming note carrying through. Thanks to the team at Croucher brewing for unleashing this fantastic beer upon us!

Pint at Pomeroys prior to Xmas. Wonderful rich mahogany colour. Light spices and fruit in the nose. Mouthfilling pallet when it warms. The fruit balance is about spot on an the malt warmth builds throughout. well done lads.

Draught, love the light chestnut colour. Belgium spice on the nose and bready malt. Cherries and plums in the mouth. Ground coriander, but also clove. The malt is both cakey and bready. There is a pleasing heat in the alcohol. A sweetness suggests a weizenbock, but the dry pepperyness says otherwise. Great guys, make sure there is more!

Tap at Underground. This is a wonderful beer, and it did remind me of the great Belgian strong ales. The aroma is fruity and floral; with apple and spices; and also some alcohol (nicely balanced). Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and long-lasting. Oily palate, and full-bodied mouth feel. Amber and clear look, the head does not last.
