3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jake65 (2166) - Williston, USA - JAN 31, 2011
Black Hills Beer Fest - Amber pour with a big beige head. Nice aroma is a sweet blend of fruits, tropical and citrus, with caramel and toffee. Tastes sweet like the aroma, but with more emphasis on the caramel. Nice fruity presence to balance. Smooth. Really could have convinced me this was a barleywine. One of the better brews of the festival.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ratman197 (5928) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Growler poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of cocoa, carmel, light coffee and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, cocoa, toffee and light earthiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 OD40oz (714) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Sampled at the Black Hills Beer Fest. Mighty fine brew from South Dakota. I could drink this one all winter long. Not the usual spiciness expected from a winter brew.

Had my Growler filled tonight with Olde Crow winter Ale. And WOW is all i have to say about this brew. I will go as far as to say this is the best Brew at Crow peak brewery. the aroma has a slight sweet smell to it. The appearance is amazing, it is a great brown look to it, and a ruby undertone, its almost a really warm Marroon, its beautiful. the taste is amazing!! a brew with such a high abv i was expecting an overwhelming alcohol taste, but its the opposite. its a very easy drinker, its so complex i can hardly discribe it. The start is very smooth, and the finish is extremely sweet, really one of the best beers i have ever tasted, and that is not an over exaggeration! go get a growler of this brew asap! I only wish it was on tap year round!!!
