FoBAB 2010: Jet black appearance topped by a small creamy head and nice lace. The aroma has notes of milk chocolate, candi sugar, lacto acid, roasted and charred malts, creme brulee, plum and raisins, light vanilla and bourbon vapours. The taste has smooth sweet malts with a fruity candy sugar component. It is kept from becoming cloy by a rye like snap, bourbon alcohol warmth and a bit of espresso bitterness. An earthy charred and slightly smoked oak finish with some anise and pepper spice. The mouth feel is aggressive, oily and lush. WOW, very nice and a tad surprising. I hoped I was not the only ratebeerian to try this, it rocks! My 3rd favorite of the fest.

Great Russian Imperial Stout, very light for a 10% ABV beer with no burn. Smells of sugary Carmel, a bit fizzy. Great lacing on the glass. Molasses on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
