Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour - borderline black. Soapy beige head. Soft roasty malts on the nose. Slightly sweeter on taste. Solid.

Bomber. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of chocolate and roast. Flavors are much the same. Roast, chocolate, bit of a caramel note. Body is thin and this did not scream imperial anything.

ccex (961) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Bomber pours a dark brown with small tan head and not much lacing. Aroma is not overpowering but has noticeable chocolate/fudge, roasted malts, bready malts, and a touch of coffee. Taste is slightly sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Body is medium with only slight carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink. Nothing outrageous here, but a very solid local porter I’ll gladly try again.

BBB63 (6154) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Bomber bottle and served in nonic pint glass: Pours a deep cola brown with a fading beige head and no much lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate brownies, roasted walnuts, toasted bread, light coffee and some herbal hop esters too. The taste is nicely malty without being overly sweet, touch of dark fruit and nutty notes. Finish is mildly bitter from the char and hops. The mouth feel is smooth and easy to drink. Nothing fancy pants but a darn solid porter and nothing wrong with that.

Patrickctenchi (4090) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAY 31, 2013
Draft: Black with a dark brown head. Robust coffee/chocolate aroma. Taste is the same... almost a fudge brownie richness. Creamy. Really nice.

kseecs16 (1207) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2013
Draught at the brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown with a whispy off-white head. Good, straightforward chocolate, roast porter with a bold flavor and a slightly bitter finish. A nice flavorful example of the style but nothing exciting here. Moderate carbonation and watery mouthfeel.

Draft. Chocolate caramel malt aroma. Black with small head. Sweet light dark chocolate malt flavor. Light body. Solid, straight-forward beer.

very nice straightforward for the style with cola color and some head. Chocolate and caramel with just enough hops.

NobleSquirrel (3437) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Draft at Crown. Pours a nice enough near black, red at the edges with a tan head. Nose is coffee roast, caramel, faint herbal hops. Also a charred note. On tasting, more of that dark malt char that lends an astringency. Caramel notes are pretty big here with the coffee. Drying roasty finish. Hops are very subdued overall. Okay Porter.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
valpoaj (638) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - APR 27, 2012
Tap pour at Industrial Revolution in Valpo - Pours dark with an off white head. Aroma is sweet malt, some roasty notes, and chocolatey. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, dark cherry, and a hint of coffee. Slightly thin on the palate, it is still not untrue to the style. Good offering that I’d definitely enjoy again if given the opportunity
