holdenn (1161), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2008 7/14/08 On tap at Crown Brewing. Pours a slightly hazed golden yellow with a white head. Sweet cotton candied nose with strong wheat, yeast, and bananas. Underneath the initial aroma is grains, lemons, clove, and a touch of perfume that isn’t unpleasant. Light body with carbonation that is a little spritzy, lacking a creamier wheat mouthfeel. Sweet flavors. Candied, lemons, yeast, wheat, with clove, herbal, and earthy notes in the dry finish. Decent hefe.
BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 27, 2008 On tap: Hazy golden hue with very good lace. The aroma is very traditional with notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, wheat, grassy hops, and a touch of biscuity malts. The taste is yeast spicy and slightly twangy fruit with a layer of wheat and pale malt. The mouth feel is very refreshing, lively and dry. This is a very good foray into the style from a new brewer and holds out hope for more good things to come. homebase (3), Spring Hill, Tennessee, USA does not count Jul 8, 2008 Had this on tap at Crown Brewing. Wheat beers seem to be all the rage lately especially the flavored varieties. This didn’t have the pronounced fruity flavors but only hints of them making for a refreshing wheat beer experience. Smooth, easy to drink brew that goes with their deep dish pizza. Easy to drink more than one of the tall glasses! mdm46410 (590), Griffith, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 On tap at Crown Brewing and served in a weizen glass. This hefe poured a beautiful, hazy, glowing golden/orange with a fluffy, lasting head of off-white foam. Decent lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of fresh bananas, bubblegum, and cloves. The flavor was big and fruity with huge banana and bubblegum notes. Also a light spiciness. Delicious! The mouthfeel was light to medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth. Extremely flavorful and quaffable. An excellent hefeweizen!
