COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our special version of a Christmas ale is a slightly spiced English Strong Ale. This beer was brewed with 100% imported English malted barley and hops. Exotic ingredients including maple syrup, locally produced Dancing Queen Indiana honey, and a blend of spices were used in the brewing process. These ingredients give this beer a unique and complex flavor to enhance its malty character. WARNING!! Too much of this special brew will impair your ability to drive your snowmobile or guide your sleigh. 30 IBUs, OG 1.074/18.5°P, 7.1%ABV.

Had this Ia the brewery. Poured a opaque brown. Head was somewhat present. Aroma was great, no overpowering. I wish the taste was like the aroma. This was a muddy mess of a beer. Nothing really defined, left me confused. Sweetness out of balance. Not sure how to fix this one? Dial back the spices and adjuncts???

Tap: Deep muddy brown with a small but lasting creamy head, good lace. The aroma has notes of maple syrup, bready and biscuity malts, a hint of treacle, grassy and herbal hops, clove and coriander vapours. The taste starts sweet and mildly fruity with a light note of honey. There is a light hop bitterness and moderate spice character about the finish. The mouth feel is full and sticky yet there is plenty of carbonation as well, a tad chalky and warming too. Seems more an English Strong Ale than a Brown Ale for sure. I could have done without the honey however.

On tap. Aroma is very nice; roasted nuts, toffee, candied sugar, and light chocolate. Flavor is smooth and brown, a nice nutty flavor mixed with spice and hops. Hint of gumdrops in the background. Nice malt and yeast profile as well. Pretty tasty.

On tap at the brewpub - Nice malty brew. It poured a hazy chestnut body with a bubbly ecru head. It had an aroma of dark caramel, lightly roasted malts, and powdery chocolate. A small amount of spices were added that I only picked up - barely - in the flavor, which was mainly about the smooth dark malt, chocolate, and a bit of caramel. Nice.
