Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Clear amber - gold beer. Light palate, semi dry. Good rich hops - grapefruit and orange. Tiny bit of carbonation in the finish. Satisfyingly hoppy beer without ever getting close to beig extreme. Mildy bitter aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #7 at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival on 3 February 2011. Amber colour. Lively condition but not much head. Big hop attack in the aroma. Clearly US hops to the fore. Lots of grapefruit. More resin and tropical fruit on the palate. Dry, biscuity malt background. Very clean, with moderate bitterness and some orange peel on the finish. Very tasty. This brewery has made a number of very good, US influenced beers in recent times and this is no exception.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gravity cask at the Chelmsford Winter BF , thanks to Thomas for the recommendation. Amber with a thin white gravity pour off white head but with plenty of carbonation. Full bodied malty back bone with complex tropical fruits and resinous hop profile. Best beer of the festival for me but still didn’t make up for the Good King Henry no show!
